Kansas Economy Losing After Blue Wave?!?!

Captivating clickbait content from these Conservatives who offer online ranking evidence of harsh times after their defeat at the polls back in November. Double bonus for the old school #TBT voodoo economics reference:

Kansas's economic outlook falls to bottom half nationally, annual study suggests - The Sentinel

Kansas, once ranked in the top 15 in the annual Rich States, Poor States study, dropped to 27th place this year. The study's authors, White House Advisors, and economists Art Laffer and Stephen Moore and the Vice President of the American Legislative Exchange Council Center for State Fiscal Reform, Jonathan Williams, released their research on ...

  1. What a loaded, bullshit article. Oh, and Art Laffer? The very person who crafted Brownback's cataclysmic reign of failure. Red states take from the Fed and blue states like California contribute far more to the Fed.

  2. That article is full of far right propaganda bullshit. Laffer's trickle down economics doesn't work, it's never worked and never will work but repulicans keep swallowing that kool-aid.

  3. @6:39 Perhaps you should move to a blue state and stop complaining.

  4. Thanks Scammin' Sammy! He destroyed that state. He left a hell of a mess for the dems to clean up like the repubtards always do.

  5. Governor Granny needs to get more abortionists into the state and start taxing the shit out of that baby killing.
    BOOM! Deficit is GONE!

  6. @6:39 Your information is WRONG!!!!!!! Blue states and blue cities have been sucking federal money for years. Take a look at red cities, then take a look at blue cities. California is losing people by the droves due to their policies causing conditions to be unlivable due to costs, and Gov. freebies. and now are moving into red states like Missouri and gee I can't imagine why!

YOU should move out there it's idiots like you who are bring us all down and sucking the Gov. dry!

    Nice try though.

  8. @8:36 I thought people were moving out of KC with it's crime, dem controlled gov, & high tax base?? I mean that's the narrative right? KC is really the only city in the state showing a population increase, so when you say people are moving to Missouri, that's where they're going right? Hmmm...seems like you destroyed one of the more popular narratives here on TKC. , that people are fleeing the city. Who's right?

The homeless population is definitely increasing here in KCMO with the weather warming up.

  10. People are moving out of Kansas into Colorado Missouri and many into Sunbelt States. And illegals are moving into Sanctuary County's IN Kansas. There are Towns in Missouri That are attracting Many New Businesses, Like Ozark Missouri, seven Thousand new Jobs in the past few years.

  11. Wow, totally sounds like blue states should want to part with any association with red states so they can be economically viable and not have large poverty disparities.

    Win/win for everyone, right?

  12. Um, if you seriously think the bloated, crashing California economy is a good example of economic activity, I have a bridge in San Francisco to sell you.

It's covered in poop like the rest of the city.

  13. ^^except it's totally not. That story was debunked long ago. Get some new talking points from Faux News. Spoken like someone who doesn't know that California's economy is the 5th largest in world. You played yourself rube. Typical geezer trumpkin.

    1. Sorry rube, reading is not your strong point. Yes, it's a large economy. 'Bloated' tends to mean large in English. However, it is looking at problematic revenue shortfalls and mass emigration. Not to mention the staggering problems of specific cities, San Francisco being one of them with so much human feces on the streets that there are apps to map it.

Try again some other time dear. :)

  14. Kansas City is experiencing growth because of the expansion in Clay, Platte, and Cass Counties, not because of any "vibrancy" in Jackson County. Johnson County is still exploding, especially in the western and southern parts of the county. The "Kansas is dying" drama does not work here. The state is definitely hollowing out, with rural communities in a death spiral of lack of employment and lack of population. Rural Missouri is experiencing the same thing. There were more people living north of I-70 in Missouri 100 years ago than live there today. Farm employment continues to decline as farming becomes more commercial and efficient, and the population declines as a result it there are no other employment opportunities available. The small manufacturing industry that provided so much employment in little towns has been relocated overseas. The so-called information age has not been an effective employment opportunity in the little rural towns. I don't know the answer, but I haven't had any indication that any politician, Republican or Democrat, has any solution either.

  15. 9:16 you are categorically wrong. Let's see your evidence. I posted a link backing up my statement, let's see yours. You won't do it.
