Kansas City Star Mistake: Blaming Parents For Rampant Metro Youth Mob Violence FAILS If There Are No Consequences

The Summer teen curfew is about a month away but already a local tradition begins anew -- The cycle of pointless babble about youth violence amid a dearth of realistic ideas to curb the problem. Every year KCMO warns of a crackdown but very few fines are issued or paid for breaking the ordinance. Correction: In 2013 there was a Prairie Village teen ticketed that inspired social media rage among Conservatives. After this latest local suburban riot, only one youngster was ticketed and then released. And so, here's the newspaper recycling hand-wringing on the topic that will be repeated for the remainder of the year. Read more:

Who's to blame for the teen brawl at Worlds of Fun? Responsibility starts with parents

Cellphone video posted by a visitor at Worlds of Fun captured part of a large brawl involving hundreds of teenagers Saturday night. The video was shared on Facebook by Madi-Lynn McDaniel of Kansas City. Officials at Worlds of Fun have tried this week to quell the fallout from a weekend brawl involving nearly 300 teenagers.

  1. Robert Heinlein suggested public Flogging for anti social behavior, with both the offender and a parent flogged if the offender was underaged.

  2. We all surely remember the bro that got caned over in Singapore for theft (minor if I recall). Hey, bring it here. Corporal punishment is and has always been a fair method for enforcing rules. It's been taken out of schools with the infestation of the prog-roach and look at the discipline problems we face today. An entire gen of "parents" who don't have the slightest clue how to discipline their offspring. Here's a clue, talking with them as some mentally developed adult doesn't work until age 25 or so. Corporal punishment speaks to the root hierarchical instinct in animals (including "advanced" ones such as us).

  10. Maybe create a new section of the park called Zulu Land to contain this kind of behavior...??

  13. 11:10 They can't write tickets because they don't have the support and backing of the mayor's office and the black community. They write tickets or arrest someone the cops get called racist and careers get ruined.
