There are a great many ways to spin this not so fun fact but the reality is that BOTH KC PROPER AND THE SUBURBS ARE LOSING RESIDENTS as flyover country falls behind the rest of the nation. Checkit:
Kansas City Metro Steadily Growing, But It Drops To 31st Overall In The U.S.
Kansas City is now the 31st largest metro area in the United States, dropping from 30th in 2017. New estimates released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau indicate the Austin, Texas, metro area surpassed Kansas City in 2018. While Kansas City's growth has been steady, it's being eclipsed by cities in the south and west, Mid-America Regional Council economist Jeff Pinkerton said.
Killer Shitty
ReplyDeleteMore proof that nobody wants to come or live here, they will go elsewhere to live and attend conventions.
ReplyDeleteI thought everyone was going to move here just to live on the Toy Train line.
ReplyDeleteLeave the hoodrats alone and they will give KCMO a momentous cleansing.
ReplyDeleteToo much crime and a poor police department.
ReplyDeleteThe metro's full of great places to live:
ReplyDeleteSafe neighborhoods, great public schools, outstanding basic municipal services, reasonable and predictable tax rates, affordable utilities, competent management, financial responsibility, well-maintained streets, sidewalks and parks, and all the rest.
Two states, seven counties, and 114 municipalities.
Just none of all that in KCMO.
Make a better choice.
Like the 85% of metro residents who DON'T live in KCMO.
ReplyDeleteWe are shrinking in population? YIKES.... Not until I get my house sold.
This information seems to be in contrast with Gopher KC’s momentum speeches???
ReplyDeleteOur City Council creates policy which takes available money from the general fund and funds policy which is directed to he 3rd district.
ReplyDeleteThe Council has a majority of these activists who pursue this policy.
The natural result is that the people who contribute the most tax dollars and receive nothing in return will move out of KCMO.
East St Louis was once a thriving area...

The east side thugs who control the City Council are failures and have no issue in taking the city down.
You mean we're killing THAT MANY?????????????? WOW.
ReplyDeleteOn the other hand, what's the big deal about more peeps. Maybe a smaller shitty is better?
9:15 wins.
ReplyDeleteAustin is full of illegal aliens, not a fair comparison. Do a percent on welfare analysts.
ReplyDeleteThe headline is misleading. Kansas City is not losing population; it's simply not growing as fast as other cities. But I would be surprised if what growth we have is north of the river, since the streets south of the river are becoming impassible.
ReplyDeleteNegro population:
ReplyDeleteAustin: 7.3%
Kansas City: 28%

Are there questions?
Used to live in austin a few years back and it was so fucking crowded because it's physically a smaller space. Can't imaging how bad it is now. Also, who would want to live in KCMO city limits when the suburbs offer a better quality of life?
ReplyDeleteFinally, what does this line even mean: "The metro grew by about 131,000 people, compared with about 16,000 in the Kansas City metro. "
"KANSAS CITY POPULATION SHRINKING!!!".....followed by the actual article title "Kansas City Metro Steadily Growing, But It Drops To 31st Overall In The U.S.".......none of the commenters thus far seem to have noticed this, which is hardly surprising, given the comments they've provided :-)
ReplyDeleteWe're all used to Tony lying to spin his anti-Kansas-City, pity-me-it's-so-horrible-here agenda.
ReplyDeleteeverything makes sense, with a growing population in the metro, and the more feeble growth of KC proper, definitely need a smaller airport.
ReplyDeleteOnce Cornish lays their three light egg, the growth of KC proper will uptick.
ReplyDeleteFortunately, anyone with a city pension probably will not be taking many plane rides, making the smaller airport appropriate.
