KC-area woman gunned down in Iowa shooting

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 25-year-old woman from Lenexa was gunned down early Sunday morning in Waterloo, Iowa. Police say that around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Micalla Rettinger was driving a car along an Iowa highway when a bullet entered the car, striking Rettinger. Rettinger later died from her injuries.

  3. This article is a good reminder of how important our law enforcement is to our state. The talks about defunding the police has many folks in the area nervous. I know a bunch of wonderful law enforcement officers, some of whom are family. However, I do believe that there are many bad apples in the bunch that make the rest look bad. I am all for anything that makes the world a better place, but I'm not convinced that defunding the police is a viable solution. Be safe out there everyone. And I hope y'all have a blessed rest of your day.
