DOUBLE DUTY JOURNALISM: KANSAS CITY PUNDITS DONATE TO COUNCILMAN QUINTON LUCAS MAYORAL CAMPAIGN!!!

As always, out KICK-ASS TKC blog community is interested when people put their money where their mouth is . . . And on election day where share this glimpse of two popular political denizens placing their bests.

First up . . .

On the day he wrote this love letter to the Councilman:

With a powerful, extemporaneous speech, Quinton Lucas’ mayoral prospects start to soar

Former Kansas City Star James Fitzpatrick is also marked down in Missouri Ethics reporting as donating about 125 bucks. Sadly, there's not disclosure on this low-rent blog post to share his financial disclosure with readers. To be fair, he did tell readers about his love for Fugazi candidate Phil Glynn (and noted that he would be making a few more smaller bets) but it was in the small print of his poorly designed blog. So much for the legacy of dead-tree journalism and all of those so-called traditions . . .

Similarly . . .

Jason Grill has talked politics on TV and radio throughout the campaign season . . .But he hasn't made much mention, that we've seen, that Jason Grill has given Councilman Quinton 200 bucks for his mayoral camapign.

And of course we wouldn't suggest any sort of impropriety because we know the hearts of these two Kansas City pundits are pure

Alsol, the FTC doesn't seem to care about this cowtown.

But as we move past the primary and into the General Election . . . What we know for sure is that MSM and the blogosphere doesn't really care a lot about disclosure or keeping their viewers wise to the interests of guests.

Thankfully, TKC is too broke to make any donations to anyone but friendly and/or hottie baristas.

You decide . . .

  3. Both men deal in well-known opinions and hence it's hardly a stunner that they choose to put their money where their mouths are.

  7. Too many candidates all mumbling nothings, that means the machine candidate probably wins because the machine will vote lock step for more of the same.
