CITY HALL RESISTS NEW KCMO JAIL?!?!

Building up the so-called "prison-industrial complex" is a bad look from many of our progressive council members. Also, the ongoing human rights crisis at the Jackson Council Jail offer a glimpse at the downside of this facility. Take a look at these issues and more in the discussion of cash that would be better spent putting more cops on the street. Checkit:

Kansas City Needs A New Place For Its Inmates, Some Councilmembers Don't Want A New Jail

There is a chance that there might be two new jails in Jackson County in the next few years - one for the county and one for Kansas City. On June 25, the city will need to house its inmates and detainees somewhere else besides the downtown Jackson County jail.

  3. If we had a good prosecutor instead of worthless Jean Petersucker Baker most of the jail inmates would already be in the State Penitentiary.
