WHEELS UP!!! NEW KANSAS CITY AIRPORT GROUNDBREAKING DEPENDS ON SKETCHY $90-MILLION SHORT TERM LOAN!!!
First of all . . . The "Wheels Up!!!" tagline touted by hack consultants sounds like a vaguely nasty (and thus kinda hot) command for submission during consensual intercourse.
But I digress . . .
MORNING DISTRACTION FOR MSM WANTS THE PUBLIC TO FORGET THAT THE NEW AIRPORT NEEDS A $90-MILLION SHORT TERM LOAN TO MOVE FORWARD!!!
A glimpse at the EMERGENCY ordinance sponsored by council lady Justus:
#190128: "Approving the issuance of Taxable Airport Special Obligation Bond Anticipation Notes (Kansas City International Airport Terminal Modernization Project) Series 2019 by The Industrial Development Authority of the City of Kansas City, Missouri in an aggregate principal amount not to exceed $90,000,000.00 to finance a portion of the costs of the Kansas City International Airport Terminal Modernization Project prior to the issuance of bonds to finance such costs; approving and authorizing certain documents and actions in connection with the issuance of such notes; appropriating revenues in the amount of $3,000,000.00 in Fund No. 8300, the Kansas City Airports Fund; and recognizing an accelerated effective date."
NOW THE PROMISE IN WRITING IS NOTHING MORE THAN THIS: AIRLINES AGREE TO PAY BACK THE MONEY FOR 9-YEARS & THEN NEGOTIATE!!!
Sadly, this kind of cash will take MUCH longer than that to pay off and it's likely that half of the airlines who signed the "user agreement" won't be in business by the end of the loan life span.
One more time for the cheap seats . . .
GROUNDBREAKING FAKE NEWS IS A DISTRACTION SO CITY HALL CAN GIVE AWAY $90-MILLION BUCKS WITHOUT VOTER SCRUTINY & MSM IS COMPLICIT!!!
Like it or not, this is the real fight to see how Council protects KCMO Taxpayer cash.
MSM misdirection:
KCTV5: Wheels up - Groundbreaking for new single-terminal at KCI set for March 25
KSHB: The groundbreaking, set for 2 p.m. outside of Terminal A’s parking structure, is the formal start of the $1.5 billion project that has been several years in the making.
Fox4: The single-terminal airport will have 39 gates. Alaska Airlines, American, Delta, Southwest, and United have all signed the deal, so did shipping companies FedEx and UPS. Spirit, Frontier and Allegiant did not sign the agreement.
UPDATE: THE $90-MILLION SHORT TERM RIP-OFF JUST PASSED COMMITTEE!!!
Developing . . .
They'll get their money one way or another.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see where they get the $1.5 Billion number too. It's obvious they were trying to rape this through before the mayoral election
ReplyDeleteSelling 25 year bonds. What about the green new deal?
ReplyDelete^^^ No airlines under AOC.
ReplyDeleteIt's all pretty much a scam. The airlines are "stepping up" with KC money.
ReplyDeleteYou're making something out of absolutely nothing, so you're just as adept at fake news.
ReplyDeleteBUT HERE COME THE MUNICIPAL FINANCE EXPERTS!!!!
^^^ $90 million dollars is not NOTHING.
DeleteIt's the biggest ripoff KC has ever seen. And you sound like a city hall scammer.
$125-million worth of bonds to finance the bonds. KC is debt city.
ReplyDeleteWow Justus is going make Sly James look like a fiscal conservative.
ReplyDeleteActually, they're optimistically saying that $90 million to pay for Kc's debt service every year. That doesn't sound like "not a dime of taxpayer money" to me!
ReplyDeleteYes! Jolie's got the momentum! Uh Huh! Uh Huh!
ReplyDeleteLook closely at the ordinance, TKC. Most of it is blank. The "final term" sheet is BLANK.
ReplyDelete..and yet...we've got a new airport!! Congrats KC & Sly! What a legacy! All you naysayers are welcome at the groundbreaking. Tremendous job! All your nay saying, ignorance, and constant complaining at the end of the day, amounted to nothing! Great day for KC great day!
ReplyDeleteCongratulationss, why bc the city is a POS and thinks a new airport will make it netter.
DeleteThey have to change the master bond ordinance to pass this. KC is giving away the store.
ReplyDeleteBankrupt in 4 years. Too late to stop the downward spiral bankruptcy momentum.
ReplyDeleteWe're financing 2013 debt, too. Everybody wins!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I get my Clay Chastain's, or any other white taxpayer candidate's yard sign?
ReplyDeleteWell the FAA FONSI declares for the record that the existing terminals can not be renovated or repurposed, that it cannot contain proper security etc due to it's unique design. Load of shit. Kc likes to not pay attention and waste money. I hope to leave and can barely wait, new airport will not make the town better. Spirit has one way fare to florida for 50 dollars, they must be destroyed.
ReplyDeleteNew bonds will be more expensive and cheaper. KC is literally selling junk.
ReplyDeleteAnd the municipal finance experts have all arrived.
ReplyDeleteSo has the City Hall shill, fresh from shining Mayor Bullhorn's shoes.
DeleteAnd 11am is here, the idiot who says nothing!
Delete^^^^ Fart sniffer city hall developer handjobber is here too. Looks like we've got a quorum.
ReplyDeleteIt's a done deal. KC will be broke in a decade. Not really any stopping it now. With $102 million in debt service just in the airport, the budget is now so overbalanced that we'll never get it right. And things are good now, just think what's going to happen when revenues go down.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is how KC becomes Detroit.
ReplyDelete^^..and yet it won't. Weird.
ReplyDeleteNo it probably will become detroit. U think Hallmark is going to save it? Why would anyone move to kc unless they an unfortunate schmuck who grew up there or are broke and fleeing a rural ghetto that used to be a fumctional rural community. Restaurants, meh, parks, pfft, streets, ha, the people, yeah right, schools, nope, safety, from whom, rivers, poison, weather, nooooo, nightlife, in ur dreams, affordability, not really, the culture, what culture, opportunity, unlikely, the integrity of the city government, absolutely not.
DeleteNetter not better which means WORSE.
ReplyDeleteI hear ya 11:30 and you are correct. Damn shame this city just gave sold it self to the airlines.
^^^..and you'll all be dead & gone by the time it's built and the rest of us will enjoy it! Good on KC! This needed to happen and did. If you all hate KC...hit the bricks! Terrific news for KC! Just Terrific!
ReplyDeleteWhy did Mayor Bullhorn let you out from under the desk? Get back to work, troll.
Delete1143 u are a professional idiot.
DeleteJust the latest example of the clowns at KCMO city hall thinking they can cleverly negotiate with professionals from the real business world and ending up leaving the meeting wearing nothing more than their socks and big big smiles.
ReplyDeleteAnd now for the taxpayers, off into the abyss.
Frosty.
^^He let me out to fuck your wife. Sh's been calling the office looking to get fucked for months now. I volunteered!
ReplyDeleteDear Used Car Guy, How 'bout I pay you for the car for two months and then we'll talk?
ReplyDeleteThis is really pathetic. I mean seriously....KCMO is try hard on a whole new level.
ReplyDelete^^^..and you are nothing.
ReplyDeleteAnd how are they getting the money again
ReplyDelete11:43. 11:52 thank you, thank you, thank you, you're just making this to easy for me.
ReplyDelete^^Nothing's easy for you. You seem retarded.
ReplyDeleteGen. Custer struck a similar "deal" at Little Bighorn.
ReplyDeleteWhat exactly is Teresa Loar researching?
ReplyDeleteThat smell coming out of your ass.
