TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! DR. ERNEST EVANS KANSAS CITY CRIME REPORT!!! NEW FBI STATS REVEAL KCPD UNDERSTAFFED!!!

Special thanks to one of the FOREMOST LOCAL CRIME EXPERTS IN THE KANSAS CITY AREA for this analysis of local trends and information that voters should understand as they prepare to cast their ballots. Here's an exceptional bit of writing with TKC highlights on the main points:

Dr. Ernest Evans: KCMO Crime Stats in a National Context

The FBI has just released the Uniform Crime Report (UCR) for the first six months of 2018. This report shows that in this time period homicides in the US declined by 6.7% compared to the same period in 2017. In this same report for the first six month period of 2015, 2016 and 2017 homicides in the US rose 5.2%, 6.2% and 1.5%

In KCMO homicides rose in 2015, 2016 and 2017--but declined in 2018. So, our city seems to be experiencing the same sort of crime climate that the rest of the nation is having.

The post-Ferguson surge in violence seems to finally be coming to an end.

However, the city is not out of the woods yet. The Ferguson tragedy has resulted in a sharp decline in the strength of police departments all over the country.

Right now, the KCPD has 100 fewer officers at the end of calendar year 2017 than it had at the end of calendar year 2013. The KCPD, like virtually every police department in the country, is seriously below strength.

With the mayor's race in full swing there is a lot of talk about reducing crime in KCMO. The candidates for mayor need to be pressed on what they plan to do if elected to bring the KCPD up to its proper strength.

  1. In theory, yes, it would be nice if voters could get answers on local issues like police staffing. But everything the the candidates is saying subject to change once they get in office. There is very little accountability in KC and part of that is because the city of KCMO still gives away tax breaks to the newspaper.

    1. Okay, more police on the streets is great but why isn't this already happening. They have long said that more than 40% of the budget goes to public safety. So why is it so hard to get more cops on the streets? That would be good to know.

  2. As Kansas City once was, so was Selma. As Selma is now, Kansas City soon will be.

The decline in Democrat cities, run by blacks, is in lock step with increasing percentages of Blacks in office. The more Liberal and obsessed with "racial" injustice, the quicker the decline. Funds are diverted to pet "Diversity" projects like 18th and Vine while the rest of the city suffers. Potholes, crime, malfeasance, cronyism, developer-pay-offs and before you can say, "We have another black serial killer", the city becomes Selma.

  4. Like we really needed someone to tell us that our cops are understaffed. The bigger problem is how worthless Jean Petersucker Baker is as prosecutor.

  5. Evans makes a good point. But he's too late. We already gave all of our money to 18th & Vine and now the airport. No more left for cops.

  6. THIS is how Kansas City becomes Detroit.

  7. "You're living in poverty, your schools are no good, you have no jobs, 58% of your youth is unemployed -- what the hell do you have to lose?

I will produce. I will produce the inner cities and I will produce for the African-Americans. And the Democrats will not produce. All they're done is taken advantage of your vote... If you keep voting for the same people, you will keep getting exactly the same result."

"This American carnage stops right here and it stops right now."

  8. KCPD budget is getting 5o percent more than other cities it size so why can't they fix their staffing problem.

  9. There never was any "Ferguson Effect".

  11. If we didn’t have any negroes, we could get by with 500 less cops

  13. Kansas City is understaffed because of Sly James. He is the one who cut back on police and Fire protection. He thinks the money can go to his big business partners to build Kansas City Apartments and store fronts and that means money in his pockets as well as the developers at the cost of YOU!

It's also a fact that black people or I should say most black people don't call the police and their hatred for the police has been around for years. Sly James is no exception to this. He hates the police he thinks thugs should be treated with a pep talk and special treatment. Obama did the same thing when it came to dealing with terrorists, you know " the workplace violence and all."

We'll I suppose we should all take a big long deep breath (exhale slowly) and enjoy an orgasmic sigh of relief that it's all over and we are now one of the safest city's in the United States

  21. It is very odd, but the Mayor and City Council allowed the Police Force to shrink over the past three years.
At the same time the money which could have funded additional Police has been wasted on the following ill fated projects.
    1. Linwood Grocery
    2. 18th and Vine
    3. MLK Naming
    4. Un-democratic Street Car expansion
KCMO is failing and becoming more and more like the Detroit and Baltimore.

Just keep the momentum and don't look around you or behind you.

Just keep your eye's fixed straight ahead and maintain momentum
