Pitch Plays Kansas City Mayoral Kingmaker

Actually, there's some pretty decent snark in this rundown of the candidates that contains a few fun facts and a not-so-pretty picture of how this election will disappoint just about everyone. Read more:

The one true guide to the 2019 Kansas City mayoral primary

Jake Edmisten If previous Kansas City elections are any indication, turnout in this year's mayoral primary will be abysmal. Just 50,000 people could be bothered to come out for the last competitive mayoral primary, in 2011, and only slightly more (57,000) dragged their asses to the polls in 2007.

  10. Need to have a person from the Northland to start getting our fair share . The money for to long has gone to downtown and the southland . We still waiting for sidewalks better response time for police and EMS. Still over doing retail and hop skip and jump building .Downtown builds another Hotel while still paying on TIF Hotels downtown and using TIF to buy new upgrades on a Plaza Hotel. These lost tax dollars are not going to pay for the retirement when the time comes . So lets not even talk about the New Airport after the last manager let it run down hill while not doing preventative maintenance

  11. KCMO annexed the northland so they could use the northland's tax money to fund all of the down down boondoggles. Northland needs to realize they are just a puppet for the joke on Oak.

  12. How many millions will be needed from the northland to rebuild Satchel PAge Stadium? Lot of money up north, let’s get some for 18th vine while we’re at it. Maybe a 5 star hotel at 18th vine.

  13. No one mentions the fact that Miller represented a company that sued the city because they took too long to finish a project and didn't want to pay damages. Probably because it happened in the Northland. TYPICAL.
