Leawood Methodist Believer Explains 'One Church Plan' Amid LGBT Crackdown Debate

Spoiling the conclusion which is still worth a click and reading on the topic of a local faith community debate . . .

"I liked it better when church was about Jesus, not politics."

Checkit:

Methodists Who Support Gay Clergy And Weddings Aren't Woke Activists

I attend the largest United Methodist Church in the nation, the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. On March 3, Senior Pastor Adam Hamilton returned from the United Methodists' General Conference in St. Louis, Missouri to report the results to the congregation.

Comments

  1. The church does not belong in politics and politics does not belong in the church.

  2. ^^My God! I've never heard that before!! Genius!!! Where did you get that????

  3. The Methodist Church also allows their pastors unmarried ones that is and hell maybe even the married ones to sleep around with the widows and unmarried female members of their congregation. This is no lie this was going on in one local church and a complaint was made to the local Methodist Church Office located in St Marks Church Methodist Church at the time. Their response was they could do nothing about it because for all we knew they were having a prayer session all night. Pastors who commit a sin and numerous sins should be defrocked.

Churches are a joke and no longer teach clean living or moral ways of life.

    This isn't about politics.

It's about whether Christians will acknowledge gay marriage as the law of the land.

Christians don't get to decide if gay people have equal protection under The Constitution. Every gay couple doesn't have to pass every Christian's marriage validity test.

That would not be religious freedom, that would be Christian Tyranny.

  9. 12:07 and 12:24 is what you call a "Pseudointellectual" A person who claims proficiency in scholarly or artistic activities while lacking in-depth knowledge or critical understanding. A person who pretends to be of greater intelligence than he or she in fact is.

As was pointed out, "YOU ARE stupid" describes you very well. People who are not very smart suffer a dual burden. First they are dim-witted and second they lack the cognitive ability to recognize this. To oversimplify it a tad — stupid people may be too stupid to realize they’re stupid. So 12:07/12:24 cool it with the constant stupid comments, they reduce your IQ more than the marijuana you smoke all day does.

  10. Funkie it is about politics you idiot. Fools like you think they can make up laws about letting gays have equal rights and forcing religious worshipers to have to follow such.

The First Amendment to the United States Constitution is a part of the United States Bill of Rights that protects freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of assembly, freedom of the press, and right to petition.

Nowhere does that say we have to give gays a damn thing.

  12. What I'm hearing from most of you posters is that you don't want to treat gays with equality. You want to deny them the right to marry, the right to go to church, and equality under the law. All because YOU don't approve of their lifestyle. Well guess what...YOU don't get to decide who people can and can't marry, where they go to school, and where they can live. That's not America and it sure as shit isn't very Christlike! Mind your own fucking business!

  13. I know I'll get blasted one way or another. But what am I missing? So the far left cry out separation of church and state, they want religion to be compartmentalized and out of the way. But then somehow, they want to be involved in internal decisions of the church. If the first statement is true, why does any of this make the news? Why should it? After all, this is a church issue. You know, something no one should care about because the church is just Hogwarts. So my point is, I guess, is if the far left make every effort to rid themselves and government of the church, then why get involved in church decisions?

  14. Men sucking cock and getting buttfucked have no business belonging to any church, except Muslim or Jew. That would wipe out most of the members at COR. Lesbians are ok and long as they are hot. Sluts are welcome as well.

  15. Can't wait for the movies night showing in the COR yard with popcorn and kettle corn. Last year Star Wars, this year: RuPaul and Emmanuelle

  17. @3/8/19, 1:13 PM. So obviously you are unchurched. Which in today's day and age, it's hard telling. So inclusion isn't the issue. The issue is the behavior. Yes you have child beaters, adulterers, child molesting priests (which is far worse than anything). Whoever said they were innocent? Christ came for the sick. The Church is supposed to be the hospital (Yeah, I know how it's turning out). So pretty much the message of love of Christ and "inclusion" should be taught. But in order to become a true Christian (not very many good examples), you need to cast off your old self and be changed by Christ. Worldly love is not the same as Godly love. Inclusion of the person, not inclusion of the lifestyle. Feel free to divert and do some Google searches on biblical clobber passages and archaic old testament passages to quote e.g. talking snakes, 40 days of everything, the flood, blah blah blah.

  18. Byron and @1:13PM The State may recognize gay unions, but churches are allowed to have different standards. We don't care about your views about what is fair or what is Godly. You can't tell us how to interpret scripture. The Bible is very clear that homosexual sex is sin. It you are a Methodist and want to ignore God's law, then go start your own Church with a heretical doctrine. Do you think you will be the first? The ashheap of history is littered with failed Christian splinter groups. Yours will just be the next.

  21. Instead of going to church on Sunday, homosexuals could use that time to catch up on dicksucking.

  22. That Adam Hamilton cuck lets the congregation run a train on his wife so as not to cause any controversy.

  25. "Private" entities have the "right" to define their rules, providing they do not cause (physical) harm. Don't like the rules? Find another group to join whose views coincide with yours. In this f----d up era, there's bound to be such a group.

    ReplyDelete
  26. @ KCpedia... Yeah, there is such a group. Community of Christ in Independence. Used to be RLDS but it imploded about 1990 and is now a free for all group. They can go there to find "Hope and Change". Once the church silenced and put the old Mormons... Ooops, Mormon lite folks to bed, the faaaaaar left came in and took over. If there's any type of controversy, the so called prophet has a new vision and everything is ok again.
