MoDOT Promises Minimal Headaches During Two Years Of Road Work Near Sports Stadiums

Commuters, take note: Beginning Sunday, the Missouri Department of Transportation will begin closing ramps and lanes at one of Kansas City's busiest interchanges. The interchange at Interstates 435 and 70 by the Truman Sports Complex is the main target. It's a necessary move, MoDOT engineer Matt Killion said, because the bridges need to be replaced.

Comments

  1. MODOT must not be familiar with that interchange. On it's best days it's bad.

  7. Well why don’t you just bring everyone up to speed on what 1:44 is talking about?
    Explanation please?

  8. I never drive on those death traps. I take 24 straight shot right into midtown. When I look at 435 its always slow moving 70 is at a stand still.

  9. I bet MoDOT's favorite trendy bridge system will be making an appearance. Divergent diamond interchanges coming your way!!! Why focus on efficient lane use, and coordinated signal timing (said no MoDOT engineer ever). Clipped from a MoDOT conference room: Let's take our standard bridge construction costs, bump it to 150% for one less signalized movement, make it difficult to maintain in winter, difficult to navigate in tractor-trailers, and confusing to use for 85% of users. Ooh, ooh, then we can complain about needing more taxes for the MoDOT budget and say that we efficiently use our budget. All: sounds great, jajajajajaa... :at this point laughter continued until the end of the meeting.
