Followup on subpoena demands and then a local government lawsuit to maintain secrecy . . . The crusade for more transparency continues but in the end, the fracas will be billed to residents.

Costs still unknown on Clay County's lawsuit against state auditor

One day after the Clay County Commission filed a lawsuit against Missouri State Auditor Nicole Galloway after she issued a subpoena for records in an ongoing state audit, taxpayers still do not know how much the lawsuit will cost the county.

Comments

  1. Sounds like somebody is trying to keep the auditor from discovering waste, fraud and abuse. Time for a recall petition of commissioners.

  2. There is no shame among the two County Commissioners who are desperately trying to avoid criminal prosecution for their misdeeds and misappropriations.

They have now abandoned any pretense of service to the County, and are merely running scared!

  3. No one is going to beat Ridgeway. Their game plan is being carried out explicitly now. The county needs an audit. Trouble is, their outside auditors are doing one now. And after that audit is completed in April, records can and will be destroyed. 2017 records for the most part are probably gone as of now and 2018 can be destroyed per the law very soon.

The dreamers are rookies compared to Ridgeway. Enjoy the fruits of your “win”.

  4. I want to get on top of Nicole Galloway

  5. I think it's interesting that the Clay County Audit site run by Jason Withington and supported by Jerry Nolte -- a supposedly public site interested in transparency -- is posting false claims about other people and organizations, and blocking those people and organizations so they can't defend themselves.

  6. Thank you, Gene Owen @5:30 for your extremely interesting and completely unbiased opinion.

Now run along and tell Luanne so she can give you a pat on the head.

  7. 6:30 -- sorry, not Gene Owen. And, the posts I'm referring to are not about the audit. I actually support the audit. I don't understand why Withington is parlaying his site into other topics, and in doing so is so intent on bending and fabricating the truth. Maybe someone should ask him (and Nolte), and also ask why he hides these half-truths and falsehoods from the people and groups he's talking about.

  8. The purpose of all the controversy, petition for audit, etc., that has been promoted by Nutlee and Witlesston has been to defeat the other commissioners so that the developers who have been trying to control Clay County for many years can regain control. Millions of dollars in TIF and other incentives are at stake. Commissioner Nolte has received substantial contributions from the developers. Nolte is a puppet for the developers and their consultants who want to control Clay County. Check the background of Nolte's early backers in 2014 and you will find convincing evidence of criminal activity.

  9. And are you therefore trying to say that Ridgeway and Owen are not "in the pocket" of a different group of Developers?

And if you are honest enough to admit they are, then are you trying to imply that those Developers have no shady dealings in their records?

You repeatedly make these accusations on this site without ever a shred of evidence, while the "dastardly duo" and their staff lapdogs continue their chaos and chicanery in Liberty.

  10. Nolte is a troll and Jason is his sniveling little eunuch.

  11. Who needs evidence? Certainly not Jason Withington and his FB sites. You know, they delete any comments they don't like (you know, the truth) and block anyone that might have the correct information from seeing their page. Also, he can't point to anything really going wrong. He has an ugly thorn up his ass and the thorn's name is Jerry Nolte.

  12. Hey 3:14 -- don't fool yourself. Craig Porter is funding this whole thing. Jason and Nolte are doing very well.

  13. I think it is a great thing that Nolte called for an audit. I hope that they looks at the 1,000's of dollars he got from attorneys and even more from developers.

  14. Leave Jason alone. He is a good Christian man. He has a very difficult home life. I don't know how he stays with that woman he is married to.

    ReplyDelete
  15. This BS! Jason has a very good marriage and is only getting paid enough money for reasonable expenses.

  16. 3:37 - it's the wife I'd be worried about, I don't know how she stays married to him! Nutless is just a sad bastard.
