Council Dude Scott Wagner New KCI Airport Solution Stays Losing

The Northland council dude wants developers to uphold election promises and is quickly smacked down by his colleagues and the newspaper. Take a look:

Councilman calls for private equity on KCI deal | The Kansas City Star

KC Councilman and mayoral candidate Scott Wagner is calling on the developer of the KCI terminal project to consider equity financing to keep city funding out of the deal. The idea didn't get the warmest reception.

  1. imagine that, companies using their own money. This is KC so I guess not.

  2. Great just what we need is another shallow article from Steve Vockrodt. A real reporter would have already uncovered the corruption that’s smack in front of their face.

Scott "Wager" is a risky bet for KCMO's future.

  5. I'm glad somebody is looking out for the city. Nobody else has had the balls to state the obvious.

  6. Equity mitigates "risk"; especially during the construction phase of the project.

Both B & M and AECOM financial models included the appropriate equity components.

  7. Wagner’s right, for Edgemore it’s all upside, no downside! Thanks Jolie/Slie!!!

  8. Lucas is a dumb fuck, he would rather give away our street and infrastructure money then make Edgemoor work on getting their own loans,

  9. @10:28pm Surprise! there is a problem with the financial models that followed such a poorly written RFP!! No! You don’t say? This is a structural issue with the whole process traced back to how the project was conceived and procured. This is something the city manager should have overseen with more expertise from the very beginning. When the council realizes the city manager is the nexus for many of the issues that are so out of control they will finally get a new city manager that brings a career of experience with him or her from their work in different cities. The only thing Troy Schulte brought to the job was his stapler and a cup of pens from his desk in the finance department. He is learning on the job to the very detriment of the city.

  10. He is not learning the job. If he was he would not allow corruption like this to happen unless he is corrupt. Basically he is just doing what his handlers Slie, clowncil, and department heads tell him to do.

  11. Replace the city manager with someone who has previously managed a large city. Experience does count.

  12. CLAY WILL LEAD THE WAY!
