Light tapping on windows and doors tonight is nature attempting to alert Kansas City residents and remind us all who is REALLY in charge.
To wit . . .
STREETS ARE A SKATING RINK OF ICE TONIGHT!!! A WINTER GLAZE COVERED LOCAL ROADS AND KANSAS CITY IS BASICALLY SHUT DOWN!!!
We're hoping the storm doesn't last for too long because power lines are once again at risk.
Already news of precaution has started to flood into local stations . . .
Fox4: Several school districts cancel classes for Wednesday as roads become icy, dangerous
KMBC: Freezing rain to transition to snow, flash freeze possible
Reality . . . Locals would be unwise to take to the streets tonight as this verglas transforms Kansas City into a Midwest glacier.
Developing . . .
Slid going uphill going home.
ReplyDeleteI know SOME conservatives don't like it but really do hope that everyone has a safe space tonight.
Didn't see any pre treatment on KC Streets. That's a damn shame. We knew this one coming but there wasn't much of a response from KC. No salt trucks, no warnings and no plan for the freeze. City Hall has screwed up every major weather incident and this one is literally the icing on top of a wretched cake.
DeleteMaybe it's time the candidates for mayor started talking about street cleaning instead of all this development junk.
Hey out here in The Hood of Leewood and OP The roads are terrible !!! Many cars off the road into ditches and too many accidents !! Yikes , Pozers don't know how to drive in bad weather !!!
ReplyDelete10:22 Pretty lame attempt at clever political commentary, combining slick roads with conservatives. Libtard obviously.

ReplyDeleteSlick roads and conservatives....What is that all about?
I was out from 2am - 5am and I only saw a couple of salting trucks/plows on city streets. I saw private snow removal in business parks and private businesses but not on streets.
ReplyDeleteThe roads were pure snow and ice.
Snow and ice in January you got to be kidding
ReplyDelete^^^^Good point, so why is the city rarely if ever prepared for it?
ReplyDeleteGot a nightly run from downtown to Olathe 3 Times a night starts at midnigh.looked like both MODOT&KDOT held back the bulk of the equipment till 6am.only seen 1 KDOT Congo line last night.they weren't out cleaning, seen 1 KCMO unit but it was plowing and salting and cleaning the sidewalks at 19th and Brooklyn fscility..
ReplyDeleteKCMO - 9am, streets still crap. Thanks Sly!
ReplyDeleteEach snow event if responded to appropriately would cost the city lots of money. They know this and are intentionally withholding services to all but a few critical areas to save money. The city is basically making people get use to having less services while increasing taxes promising to improve services. The sad part is you guys keep voting these same people into office year after year just because they're the incumbent!
ReplyDeleteHahahahahaha you shut-ins are hilarious! Roads are fine. You buncha bitches! Don't let me catch you out on the roads fucking up my flow. I'll put your Buick in a ditch!
