TKC EXCLUSIVE!!! YOU DON'T HAVE THE CASH FOR PRICEY KANSAS CITY HEART OF AMERICA SHAKESPEARE 'EYES WIDE SHUT' ROMANTIC MASQUERADE PARTY!!!

Allow us a quick moment of respite in order to avoid border wall, government shut down, lost paycheck burnout and examine other sexy Kansas City topics.

To wit . . .

UPSCALE AND SEXY TKC READERS SEND US FIRST WORD OF HIGHER PRICES FOR KANSAS CITY ELITE AND THEIR 'ROMANTIC' MASQUERADE PARTY IN SUPPORT OF THE SHAKESPEARE FEST!!!

From their perspective the gala is a great way to support the arts and meet new, rich friends . . .

However, cheapskates and classy cost conscious Kansas City denizens always are kind enough to send their complaints our way.

Here's the word:

"TKC, just wanted you to take a look at the new prices for the HOA Shakespeare event. ARE THEY KIDDING??? 2 grand minimum entry! WTF? I bought some lawn seats five years ago and I still get this SPAM but I don't mind because this festival does put on great workshops for students. Still, I've never seen such extravagance from a Kansas City event that claims to be a charity and I think they need to put their priorities in order. The money used to justify this kind of party would be better spent trying to increase pay for their actors or do something besides host a fancy ball for the Kansas City elite. What kind of person would attend this garbage???"

First, we'll share a listing of the costs that inspired the 99% tirade . . . And, yeah, 25K top end is big bucks just for a night of "romance" among the ruling class -- Especially since they're not promising an "Eyes Wide Shut" masked love fest, just a bit of recognition amongst the muckety-mucks . . .

However, to answer the reader's question . . . The winter is fundraising season in Kansas City and this type event offers the perfect place to schmooze and be seen among local power players with deep pockets. Amid campaign season and a forthcoming recession, expect politicos, developers, lawyers and all manner of scumbags to crowd this party in a desperate search for the affection of patrons.

  1. Very droll.

For those with means, this is a fantastic party. Even the angry tipster acknowledges that the Shakespeare festival helps students.

Shakespeare is overrated British garbage. Good riddance! People don't need to support that tripe any longer.

  11. Tickets are available for $200/person. Table hosts at $2,000 receive tickets for a table of 10 people. This is a fabulous event that raises money for a theater that is open to everyone in the city for free, and that also provides educational opportunities for kids all over the city, including providing scholarships to them.
