TKC EXCLUSIVE WARNING!!! KANSAS CITY 'AFFORDABLE HOUSING' PUSH JUST PROPERTY TAX SPIKE IN DISGUISE!!!

Once again City Hall has enlisted hack "journalists" and pay-for-play pundits to push more taxes on Kansas City and there's little to no opposition for their efforts that will further increase the cost of living in Kansas City.

Accordingly, 12th & Oak desperately wants the voting public to believe that locals demand "affordable housing" throughout KCMO.

On the surface, it sounds nice . . . Deets promoted by KC Stat and local politicos:

55 percent of the respondents to the latest Resident Survey conducted last spring were satisfied with the availability of affordable housing, down from 57 percent the previous year . . . The number of Fourth District residents satisfied with the availability of affordable housing DROPPED from 65 percent to 58 percent in the latest survey. Almost two-thirds of the district residents are renters, according to the Census.

It's useless data twisted by 12th & Oak for one purpose . . .

CITY HALL PLANS AN INCREASE IN PROPERTY TAXES AFTER THE ELECTION IN THE NAME OF AFFORDABLE HOUSING!!!

Our AWESOME TKC BLOG COMMUNITY exposed this gambit that is championed by Council Dude Scott Wagner FIRST and only a few lesser news outlets have caught on . . . The punchline here is that the cash is mostly for a slush fund and probably won't help broke-ass residents very much at all.

You decide . . .

  3. Anyone else notice the gimmick of progressives calling something “affordable” in order to raise taxes? “Affordable health care” and them BAM more tax burden and a few wealthy insiders cash out. Well, for KCMO “affordable” housing is going to make you grab your ankles some more.

  4. Good God. The mayor and the council don't even try to hide it anymore. They're just go betweens in handing more and more taxpayer dollars to developers. Do people not see the relationship in constantly giving away TIF money and the council turning around and claiming they need to raise taxes.

  8. All the way with Clay.

Slie does not want affordable housing in the downtown area since he does not want low wage earners mingling with the elite 24/7. Slie wants the low wage earners shipped into the downtown area to do the menial jobs and then ship them back out of the downtown area.

Slie is fooling no one as he has been slowly working with the developers to drive all of the blight from the downtown area.
