Missouri electing fewer female lawmakers than some other states
Record numbers of women will serve in U.S. legislatures this year. The number of women who will serve in Congress and state legislatures will climb more than 10 percent in 2019. And while women have come a long way, female representation remains far short of reflecting the population.
Nope, it's just that most elected officials are Republican, and the GOP doesn't have that many electable women to run for office.
