KANSAS CITY VOTERS MUST HAVE MORE FEEDBACK ON NEW KCI AIRPORT DESIGN!!!

Given that the new airport is STALLED AND NEGOTIATIONS ARE FALLING APART, it seems that the public couldn't do any worse than all of the bickering politicos behind the scenes.

To wit . . .

TKC READER: KANSAS CITY VOTERS NEED GREATER INPUT OVER THE DESIGN OF THE NEW AIRPORT!!!

One of our best and brightest readers recently directed our attention to Chicago searching for designer and public approval for the New O'Hare construction.

And so . . .

BECAUSE IT'S LIKELY KCI IS GOING BACK OUT FOR BID THIS YEAR!!! VOTERS NEED TO HAVE A SAY IN HOW THE NEW AIRPORT WILL LOOK GIVEN THE DISAPPOINTING RESULTS SO FAR!!!

It doesn't have to be an official ballot, the millions KCMO is spending so far should be able to craft a website where voters offer their suggestions.

Given how much Mayor & Council love to talk about tech . . . The process so far has been antiquated. Offering locals more online interaction might be the only way to save this plan from crashing & burning.

Developing . . .

  1. Say no to the wood roof.

    What a ripoff.

  2. I’m so embarrassed for our citizens, sLIE and clowncil are the dumbest people in the face of the earth. This is a perfect example of why we are flyover country. Nobody wants to deal with these worthless cocksuckers

  3. Where they going to get the cheap labor to build this thing?

  5. We can only blame S'lie and his cronies so much for this debacle. KCMO voters approved this thing. Approved it with ZERO information about costs, design, timeline, and ZERO guarantees from the airlines. All S'lie did was say, "Hey voters, you mind if we build a new airport given the fact that we can tell you absolutely nothing about it?"

The story on this new airport changes daily. The details should have been finalized BEFORE it went to vote.

Yet, like lemmings, voters emphatically said "yes" anyway.

This city government is as corrupt as the day is long. But we, as voters make it way too easy for them to be corrupt because our elected officials do shady shit every day and we never question them and we don't hold them accountable. So in essence, we are getting what we deserve. If this thing goes to hell in a handbasket, and it will if it hasn't already, we really need only look in the mirrors to find some of the blame. Shame on S'lie and his group for not protecting the people they represent. But shame on us for paving the way for them to be shady and allowing them to get away with it.

  7. My design would be to make sure travelers spend as little time as possible at the airport. "Arrive 30 min before the flight leaves" should be the pitch to voters.

  8. Sly is almost out. Just let him cream his jeans for a little longer. I'm anxious to see who KC liberals put in next. They never learn. With this fiasco KCI may not exsist at all. KC never thinks about long term effects like building apartments with no parking. But hey Sly has his bullhorn and clown suit for entertaining.

  9. Nicole Galloway needs to audit all of KCMO's departments and then everyone will be able to see what we already know. KCMO government is the poster child for government waste, fraud and abuse.

  10. Remodel all three terminals, have a ribbon cutting and be done with it.

  11. Chicago has shown the KC process as how NOT to do something.
KC should be prepared for a $10 Billion dollar deal.
Apparently Fed money won’t be used as much since the political process is hyper-native to regional interest and incorporating volatile participation which eschews both partisan and non-partisan exemplaries.
So... odds are better than 68% that the current proposal won’t be seen and as the expanded extension of time accelerates- the Nobel cause should be abandoned and a comprehensive bi-state committee formed that involves legions of truly wavy business leaders that are proven. At least 51% should have addresses in Johnson County.
Perhaps any new local landfill that needs a name would consider any current committee in charge of what is transpiring with the current proposal.

  12. MCI is one of the most convenient airports in the country. I don't give a shit that it's dumpy. You can arrive so fucking late and get right through. Airports across the country only have one line to get it that gets logjammed half a mile long. MCI is a better model of how an airport should work and should not try to conform to inconveniences. it just looks dumpy

  13. The original, but now absent waterfall in the Edgemoor Infrastructure proposal for the new KCI terminal by their Architect Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM) is actually a copy of the waterfall at Singapore Changi Airport, by Safdie Architects of Boston.

    https://www.safdiearchitects.com/projects/jewel-changi-airport

The big NYC design firm, Skidmore Owings and Merrill (SOM), thought they would dazzle a waterfall in the design to win the competition then remove it when the overall project costs became too high? What does Edgemoore and SOM take KC for? A cow town?

  14. Put some money in the old Municipal airport downtown instead. Gives pilots incentive to not crash in Missouri River.

  15. And whoever decided we need an airport with all this super duper gee wiz stuff and amenities for people who think. "Shit a one hour stop in Kansas City, that sucks".

  16. they rich, chicago gets to manage all the corn and soy and wheat from all over the midwest making billions for those not in flyover country while KC eats the dirt and mad cow disease they did not give away.

  17. all the dumb fucks in this town are simply going to work trying to feed their family while the whole city gets flushed down the shitter b/c they oblivious cunts.

  18. ^^ 10:23 has it right. The only thing that's broke is that it looks crappy. Otherwise, it's far superior in getting people in and out than any of the "fancy" airports. I think the only improvement that could be made is getting parking closer to the terminal. Imagine cutting another 15-30 minutes off of each leg of your trip by eliminating the wait for buses to the Parking Spot or Economy parking? That's what I'm talking about...

  19. @241 Not the poetic prose I would have used, but I fully agree.

  20. By all means, let’s please have the TKC commenters design the new airport. It will be a large replica of mom’s basement and a poorly drawn dick.

    ReplyDelete
  21. @417 Speak about your own limp dick. Common Sense says there is a better way forward than the stupid and corrupt path we are now on. Audit? How about a federal investigation? I could NOT be more serious.

  22. this town is awful, pretty sure i rather die than live here any longer, someone send the OPPD for a welfare check.
