The enduring GOLD STANDARD of Kansas City political discourse begins again with a metro conversation on development and the political scene ahead of us this year.
Checkit:
"Mike Shanin talks to Chairman of the Johnson County Board of Commissioners Ed Eilert about key issues and projects in JOCO. Michele Watley, Patrick McInerney, Woody Cozad & Patrick Tuohey discuss efforts by Gov Mike Parson to repeal and replace the recently passed Clean Missouri amendment, proposed changes to earnings tax legislation and caps on sales taxes and Democratic presidential candidates."
Take a look:
You decide . . .
I guess it's good to know what the establishment things but I question how much influence these people really have over the decisions being made in KC.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, seems more like they are only offering excuses for policy makers with very little criticism. The conservatives do a good job of raising some questions but they are very hesitant to really debate the issues either.
Yes, this is the only thing close to a political forum in Kc but that fact probably explains a lot.
DeleteClean Missouri is a joke, it's a dirty bill and when it's defeated, won't be that big of a loss.
DeleteActually, Shannin asks better questions that just about anybody. I think he does more real journalism than most any of the reporters or news outlets in KC. If people don't answer the questions in a forthright manner, that's on them. But at least somebody is there to put the issue out there for some people to see.
ReplyDelete^^^^^ Halfway right. Only this program overall only gets watched by a few hundred people. They're all voters, elected officials and consultants so it's important but for most in KC, they're busy watching the garbage on netflix or youtube. Not worried about how to set policy in KCMO.
DeleteGood comments. Nice not to have to endure inane ad hominems from geezer hater troll.
ReplyDeleteKc owes Shanin, his show is one of the few places to talk about real KC issues.
ReplyDeleteWELCOME TO NEW YEARUCKUS!
ReplyDeleteEd Eilert has served with high distinction for decades. He has been one of the primary "municipal architects" that transformed Overland Park/Johnson County into the gem that it is today. Major Salute!
CLEAN MISSOURI OR MUDDY MO'
Democrats like a guy named Phil A. Buster.
ESSENTIALLY EGREGIOUS
KCMO government addicted to your forced E-tax withholding dollars. Comparable cities (Indianapolis, Oklahoma City) eat KC's economic lunch while operating without an earnings tax.
DEMOCRATS FIGHT OVER SLIMY AND NEW VS. SNIDE AND SHREW
ROAST OR TOAST
Tuohey starts 2019 with an optimistic wish for KC residents.
Cozad asks for women to self-identify with his button issue.
McInerney applauds an incoming Utah Senator who repaid President Trump for his endorsement and help winning the race by kicking a beehive into the White House. McInerney identifies with traitors.
Watley exhibits Trump Derangement Syndrome, but we delight in her wardrobe Freudian slip: white underneath, against her skin, with a black covering for public appearances!
Mike Shanin assures viewers he'll continue brewing up more Ruckus potions and incantations as 2019 kicks off another spellbound season of your favorite round-table coven of witches and warlocks.
When Left versus Right
Shanin holds might
If a Toaster gets too wordy
He rings their neck at mark :30
The show must conclude with a pun
Or we're not having fun!
Amen.
ReplyDeleteWell done @10:51. Best recap of the show and much better than me having to actually watching. Double win.
ReplyDeleteNot having to watch inane Gwen Grant is a good thing.
ReplyDeleteCozad was right in his roast
