Kansas City Lady Starts Begging On The Internets Amid Ongoing Shut Down Drama

Here's local follow-up on this pay cable talker asking for cash online and contradicting Prez Trump's assertion that federal workers stand with him in this crusade to build the wall . . .

Kansas City mother starts GoFundMe because of government shutdown

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -- Kansas City has more than 15,000 federal workers. Some of them are working without pay because of the shutdown. One federal contractor turned to the internet for help to make it through. More than 200 sympathizers have reached into their own wallets to help Julie Burr and her two children.

  1. So she was sucking the government tit, and it dried up for a while. Now she wants the taxpayers to give her more money. I all horseshoe.

  2. She will get paid all of the money she would have made if working during the shutdown. Happens every time. Don't feel obligated to fund her.

  6. She’s a federal contractor so may not get back pay like the federal workers. But still, how many other people have lost jobs in the same period and just filed for unemployment and found another job!

  7. She doesn't get any back pay, federal contractors are different. My family member is an essential federal worker he has to work without pay but will get back pay when the Gov. reopens. Federal workers who don't work during the shut down will get back pay only if the congress passes the O.K. to pay them, and they always have in the past.

^^^^^yes it is in ways a fraud. She will get her pay since she is a 1099 contractor she more or less is running her own business. She had 63 hours of work she was due payment for and knew same as all of us this shutdown may happen and she didn't get her bill submitted in time to get a check. After everything goes back to whatever normal it was she will summit her bill and will be paid. Meanwhile she made over 7k in extra money already this year with her GoFundMe scam. She isn't losing any money she just hasn't got it yet. She only waited 6 days after the shutdown to set up her page claiming she was already broke and had gone through her savings. She works another job and gets paid for it but only had 6 days worth of savings on hand but was sitting on 63 hours of billable work. Come on people this story stinks.

  11. Shameless. If you look at her beggar profile (aka GFM page) she has nearly doubled her goal yet is still collecting. Plus she tries the sympathy angle by stating that her husband died a few months ago. While that is indeed tragic, doesn’t it also mean that she and her two kids are eligible for survivors benefits from SS? She’s definitely not missed any meals, so I guess she just saw an easy way to stick her hand out and went for it.
