Turns out the historic Kobach defeat was merely a symptom of a deeper problem as another political lady offers the GOP a harsh insult and reality sets in that Red State hegemony might be at risk if the ruling party alienates more than half the state and some of the most active voters.
Money line:
"Outgoing Rep. Joy Koesten, of Leawood, Thursday that she's changing her party affiliation. Koesten wrote that she "just can't stomach trying to 'fit in' anymore to a party that grieves me so each and every day." Her announcement follows state Sen. Barbara Bollier's decision to switch after she endorsed Democratic Gov.-elect Laura Kelly and was stripped of a committee leadership post."

Outgoing lawmaker switching from GOP to Democratic Party
Another Kansas lawmaker is switching from the Republican to the Democratic party. Outgoing Rep. Joy Koesten, of Leawood, announced Thursday that she's changing her party affiliation. Koesten wrote that she "just can't stomach trying to 'fit in' anymore to a party that grieves me so each and every day."
ReplyDeleteGOOD! She's just the kind of people we want OUT of the Republican party, and no she doesn't fit in!
Good luck fitting in with the intolerant, humorless and extremely judgemental extreme left wingers that dominate the Democratic party.
ReplyDeleteTypical social justice warrior. As always grass is greener, in this case meaner, on the other side of the fence.
ReplyDeleteShe would fit in great in Venezuela.
Another JoCo RINO that was never a Republican to begin with.
ReplyDeleteSo when is Princess Stephanie going to follow?
When’s the last time she put out for a dude anyway? No big loss at all.
ReplyDelete^^^^ All of these dumbass comments are why women should leave the Republican party. Republicans don't respect women and there is no point in voting for a political platform that seeks to damage women at every turn. She did the right thing and more will follow her way.
ReplyDeleteAngela, nobody is trying to damage her. But any time the GOP gets rid of someone as stupid and worthless as joy, it’s a good thing.
DeleteSeems like she could have resigned. Why switch? Constituents wanted the Republican.
DeleteHope she fits in with Nancy Pelosi Maxine Waters and company
ReplyDeleteLeawood hottie!
ReplyDeleteSomehow the Republicans will try to go on without her
ReplyDeleteWhy does she think anyone even cares?
ReplyDeleteIf she actually had any core values and just a little courage and integrity, she would have switched parties while she was still in office.
Just a really good example of yet another politico putting her finger to the wind and making believe they're moving in a different direction. Tomorrow it will be a different direction.
People like this meet themselves coming out the door.
Above who thought she's a "hottie" needs glasses.
ReplyDeleteWell I'll allow that she's kind of got a certain appeal in a murder-she-wrote sort of way ...
DeleteNever mind. When the wind shifts, so will she.
ReplyDeleteKoesten is not a "white woman". Koesten is Jewish. Jews aren't White, Jews are Jews (ask a Rabbi). Treachery and treason come naturally to the Jewish people, who have been banished from 109 different countries. Oh, but everyone else was the problem, right ? How can you tell if a Jew is lying ? When their lips are moving.
ReplyDeleteWith few exceptions - any progressive leaning politician knows that having a "D" behind their name on the ballot is a non-starter for JoCo voters. It's no secret in Topeka that there are a number of "R"'s that have adopted that flag for the only purpose of getting elected. "see, I'm a middle of the road Republican and not like that right-wing nut that wants to hold onto their guns and religion". In reality, they are a Clinton democrat - rich, "smarter" than everyone else, power hungry, and progressive enough that they can fool moderates into thinking they are in their camp.
ReplyDeleteHow does a rich women suddenly become a socialist ? Too much money too little sense. She is confused and should not be representing anyone.
ReplyDeleteY'all ar right! Y'all ar GOOD REPUBLICANS!
ReplyDeleteY'all support a Presodent who iz GREATER THEN WASHINGTON, JEFFERSON, FRANKLIN, LINCON, HOOVER, all tolled up inta One!
