Kansas City Star Among Those Targeted By Hoax Bomb Threats Throughout Nation

Afternoon scare for this dead-tree organization. Take a look:

Bomb threats received throughout Kansas City, nationwide deemed not credible

Authorities say bomb threats sent Thursday nationwide to dozens of schools, government buildings and other locations -- including the Kansas City Star -- appear to be a hoax. Law enforcement agencies across the country dismissed the threats, which they said were meant to cause disruption and compel recipients into sending money and are not considered credible.

After the Falling Star received a bomb threat to their headquarters, the remaining 3 staff members turned out the lights and went home early.
