UMKC Professor and GLAMA Work to Tell Kansas City's LGBT History
Austin Williams (right), a UMKC Professor, directed his documentary "The Ordinance Project" to tell the story of the anti-AIDS discrimination ordinance that passed in Kansas City in June of 1993. This ordinance is "one of the most controversial pieces of legislation in Kansas City's history," Williams said.
Federal funding for title one cities which KC became a part went a log way to end discrimination and give people hope. You should not leave out those efforts.
ReplyDeleteDon't forget the invaluable contribution of the Jewel Box bar on Main where men could dress as women and also special mention of the after dark specials in the bushes and cars at the Liberty Memorial.
ReplyDeleteBut don't forget how the gay community can discriminate agansist Christians if you don't bake them a wedding cake. What these people need is a shrink.
ReplyDeletemore homo stuff. geez. i think there are more blind and disable people than homos. why not all the publicity for blind and disabled people? i don't see deaf and legless people demanding special rights and attention beyond the basic nondiscrimantory laws that GHW Bush passed in 1990.
ReplyDeletewhat makes gay people so special?
they took a page from the israel lobby. make their issues front and center even though it impacts a very ver small # of people
Does it document the homosexual buttfucking and cocksucking the homosexuals did to spread aids, even though they knew that’s what caused it?
ReplyDeleteBack in the closet for the sake of the children.
ReplyDeleteYou look and talk like a fag. Now get the hell out of here.
ReplyDeleteFuck off. We are sick and tired of all your gay bullshit.
ReplyDeleteHey, 7:16
ReplyDeleteI am a blind, legless, disabled homo.
I got a free braille-controlled automobile from the government.
You sound jealous.
Faggots just want attention. That’s why they think they have to tell the whole world they suck cock and get buttfucked.
ReplyDelete^^You are absolutely a closeted homosexual. Do something about it.
ReplyDeleteSo are you a psychiatrist? Can you cure homosexuals and make them normal? Or are you just a faggot with hands on experience?
DeleteIsn’t it enough that we have to see flaming homosexuals every day? Why do we need documentaries about them?
ReplyDeleteYou can always tell who a queer is by looking at their eyes.
ReplyDeleteThe homo's have these dreamy type eyes check it out.
i tell them they are fags and to get away from me.
The documentary will be called “Memories Of Our Journey Up The Hershey Highway.”
ReplyDelete^^So may closeted queens on this blog. Listen to you Nancies Squawk!
ReplyDeleteHeard that the men's heartland chorus is putting on a spring show of Lemmiwinks, the Gerbil King. Now, who will play Mr Slave?
ReplyDeleteThat guy on the right is a real fag you can tell.
ReplyDeleteYeah. If you read the story, I think that this is a given.
ReplyDelete@7:37 I only have this to say about a blind faggot....you really gotta hand it to him.
ReplyDeleteAs a gay man in a longterm relationship of 28 years I can say with confidence that if these young gay men would calm down and engage with the community they live in they would find very little discrimination. Heterosexuals don’t wear their sexuality on their shirt sleeve and neither should we. It’s nobodies business what we do in the bedroom so stop trying to advertise it, they certainly don’t and that is the way it should be with everybody, it works both ways. When you scream that you are a faggot you get treated like one. Get a life!
ReplyDelete^^^^^ This guy gets it^^^^^
ReplyDeletePeople are less turned off by the homosex than they are about the being obnoxious about your sexuality.
@ 6:40 The Jewel Box was far and away more of a vaudeville or Vegas style entertainment venue than a gay bar. Those impersonators were professional entertainers who weren't trying to live as a woman.
ReplyDeleteThe guys in drag at the Jewel Box knew they were still guys versus the gender confused nuts at Missy B's, but that hasn't stopped the LGBTQWXYZWTFBBQ community from revising history.
Gay History ? Find a graveyard or obituary column. Hyper-promiscuity = AIDS deaths and suicides.
