Kansas Catholics Against Guv-Elect Kelly?!?

A politically incorrect statement of principle overlooked by local media deserves mention this Sunday. Here's the money line from a worthwhile editorial:

"Once safely elected, the narrative changed. During Kelly’s first post-election news conference, she prompted statewide headlines with the astonishing statement that she’d direct her staff to not follow the law.

"Her target: the new Kansas Adoption Protection Act (APA).

"As the Kansas Catholic Church’s top legislative priority in 2018, the APA’s focus is simple and reasonable. Faith-based adoption agencies like Catholic Charities should be protected to place children in homes with a married mother and father.

"This basic exercise of Catholic religious freedom draws on two millennia of church teaching, Sacred Scripture and the model of the Holy Family. It’s hardly controversial.

"The governor-elect claims the APA somehow discriminates against “gay couples.” She’s also fully aware Kansas law allows other agencies to make such child placements — which they do on a regular basis."

Defense of adoption act a top priority for Kansas Catholics

by Chuck Weber Politicians campaigning one way then governing differently are as American as Mom and apple pie. Case in point: Kansas Governor-elect Laura Kelly. "Candidate Kelly" projected the image of a reasonable, reach-across-the-aisle moderate, talking up issues like school funding, health care and the economy. Once safely elected, the narrative changed.

I’d feel much safer placing a child (especially a boy) with a gay couple than a member of the Catholic clergy.

@10:05, Catholic Priests have children, over and over and over... and when the truth comes out about what they've been doing to the children, the Church transfers other Parish really quickly.

Maybe @9:45 wasn't the stupid one, Hmmm?

The religion of child molesters doesn't like granny. I like her a bit more all the time.

Good ol Catholics, the most corrupt and hypocritical organization in the history of the world. God forbid gay people offer a better home to kids living in abhorrent conditions around the world. Oh, and speaking of their hatred for gays (I thought religious people weren't supposed to judge), what about the thousands of homosexuals they employ in their church? Hell, I knew a kid adopted from China by two gay guys in my neighborhood in the fucking 1970s. I can't believe this is an issue. Fucking hypocrites.

10:05, expand your comprehension skills; I didn’t say priests could have children, I said I would feel more comfortable for a child to be in the care of a gay couple than any Catholic priest, whether that be during Mass or whatever activity the priest is presiding over when he molests kids. Now, go finger your beads, then finger yourself.

I know a gay girl who told me society is more than happy to let gays adopt developmentally and physically disabled kids but by golly, the normal one's need a traditional home to grow up in. She's pretty much right.
