Green rush: cannabis advocates hope to make money on the product

Cannabis supporters call it the "green rush" as interest among farmers to plant hemp, which is a close cousin of marijuana, continues to increase. Several thousand people showed up to a packed KCI Expo Center to learn about growing and harvesting cannabis and hemp.

  1. "Weed probably isn't much worse than soda" Seriously? Tony, I am all for legalization, but this kind of cheerleading has got to stop. Yes, cannabis has some use as a medicine, but by in large it is NOT GOOD FOR YOU. Studies have shown that children under the age of 25 can have permanent cognitive impairment from using cannabis. Almost all adults users report some type of short term memory loss. I never got that from drinking a Pepsi.

Just as the anti-drug contingent overstated the dangers of cannabis, so now the proponents are understating them.

For recreational users, cannabis is NOT going to make your life better. It has the potential for abuse and addiction. The hybrid strains grown today have high levels of THC, and it is not the same weed used by Grampa in the 60s. It should be used in moderation and with caution, and should NEVER be given to children.

The derivatives like dabs and edibles are unregulated and can contain dozens of times the average dose of THC. Be careful out there.

  4. Dear Cee Bee. Get of my lawn!!! You sound really, really old.

  5. @9:47 Listen neckbeard, I am still young enough to clean your clock.
Why don't you put your bong down, and go get some exercise. Or better yet, clean the Cheetoe dust from your chin and call a girl. If you get a job and have a place of your own, you just might lose your virginity.

  6. ^^^Dude, that was BRUTAL. @9:47 you should maybe take that pricetag off, 'cause you just got OWNED.

  7. ...ummm sorry @Cee Bee and @11:07AM, apparently 9:47AM hit a nerve and tore your playhouse down, otherwise you both(actually you're one and the same, but I'll play along) wouldn't have responded the way you did. 9:47AM trolled, you bit and got butt-hurt. Thanks for playing, maybe learn the game of blog posting before you ever post again. If you respond, you lose. Maybe if you weren't really, really, really, old, you would know that. Better luck next time.

  8. @12:07PM "If you respond, you lose" So that means you just lost then, right? Got it.

  9. @ CeeBee BOOM! Fucking headshot on the 9:47 neckbearded incel. Well played!

  10. @12:07 PM Was I too close to home? Sorry, so transparent. And @6:02 nailing your hypocrisy is a laugh riot. I guess YOU need to learn the rules of posting.
And like a typical millennial douche, you never touched the substance of what I originally wrote. Just a silly ageist ad hom attack. Why is that? Are you angry at all the real adults that have real lives and real wives, and all you have are Facebook "friends" and the never ending quest to be "liked" and upvoted? None of that stuff is really ever going to make you happy, and you should learn that before you have wasted another decade of your life. Your mom will eventually die, and you will be evicted from your basement lair. You better have a plan. Now put down the Mountain Dew Code Red, log out of PSN and go get a JOB.

  11. C'mon, weed is not as bad as alcohol, but you should use the same common sense principles that apply to drinking. Moderation and stay out of your vehicle in both cases. Simple enough.
