TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY NEW KCI COSTS SOAR WHILST AIRLINES REFUSE TO SIGN SKETCHY NEW AGREEMENTS!!!
The airport remains what could be the greatest and most costly debacle Kansas City has ever confronted.
On Sunday we called out the issue of airline agreement and now it's news FACT . . .
KSHB: Airlines haven't signed off on new KCI price tag
An important update that has been heretofore ignored . . .
Southwest Airlines confirms it will not attend @KCMO airport committee tomorrow. The airline has not signed the use and lease agreement for the new terminal
KMBC Update: Airlines not expected to attend big meeting to discuss KCI project updates Thursday
A lesser cost estimate . . .
"During the last airport update, aviation dept. said annual payment on #newKCI will be $125 million. John Green, their head of finance, confirmed during that meeting that it adds up to $3.75 B over 30 years."
Actually, it's 35 years but what's a few hundred million between friends . . .
Remember that our KICK-ASS BLOG COMMUNITY was the FIRST to note the new airport price tag is ACTUALLY 4-BILLION BUCKS AND RISING!!!
And so, the sordid topic of coin threatens to throw new airport plans into a tailspin as most voters actually don't remember what they agreed to and costs are far more than anything put on the ballot.
Developing . . .
We need a re-vote. This is ridiculous.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^ Haven't you been paying attention, the whole thing is a nightmare and part of a scam that could bankrupt KC if we aren't careful.
DeleteOnly 1 Billion. Won't cost the taxpayers a dime!
ReplyDeleteSlick James
Way past time to remodel the existing airport.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^^ Absolute agree.
ReplyDeleteThing this airport is that it's spirialing out of control worse every day and the only thing we hear out of city hall is spin.
Just saw Go4KC making up some comment bullshit and just lying about the story. I like that they have KSHB scared that they back of the initial story after they get some angry phone calls.
ReplyDeleteThankfully, TKC posts it before they have a chance to change it.
Hey, it's worth it if our city can be WORLD CLASS!
ReplyDeleteWhy doesn't the star report this any more?
ReplyDeleteI know they'll file something really boring tomorrow afternoon but by then the story is already out. What am I paying 900 a year for?
^^^^^^^^^ birdcage liner.
ReplyDeleteI'll tell you this: The airport is jacking KCMO.
ReplyDeleteAnd not in a good way.
Who needs the airlines to agree with the airport scam?
ReplyDeleteThe minority contractors, bond attorneys, consultants, unions, and assorted usual suspect grifters are all already on board and they've been busy carving up the pie.
Oh, and they've also been really busy making the pie bigger and bigger.
But it's only money.
And it's only yours.
You really can't make this stuff up.
7:20 You are an idiot to admit you're paying $900 a year for that rag, unless you just used that as an example.
ReplyDeleteBased on quotients of elliptical based financing and costs both associated and not assisted- airport costs could easily balloon to $10 billion before or at least when it’s done. Easily.
ReplyDeleteA friend came to visit from NY and was totally amazed at how easy and fast the current KCI is.
He said as he left “Leave it to your stupid city to fix what works great. He said he was glad the Grand Canyon was here as City Hall would try to fix that by filling it in.
save kci!
ReplyDeleteAgreed Anon 7:47 PM.
ReplyDeleteOut-of-state friends all like KCI the way it is- fast in and fast out. ;)
Rather that to Anon 7:57 PM. ;)
ReplyDeleteNever get a second chance to make a first impression with 25 million visitors.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^ LOL. Good one.
ReplyDeleteWe need a new Save KCI vote. This is nonsense and the publci did not approve this!
Let the exodus begin. Ppl will be fleeing kcmo with evermore taxes and fees to pay for this boondogle.
