TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY 'FREE HOT SOUP' PUSH BACK AGAINST HEALTH DEPARTMENT WITH SUNDAY FALL PICNIC!!!

This week the Kansas City Health Department was confronted with a national disgrace for pouring bleach on food intended for homeless people.

Today, just as we reported earlier in the week . . .

KANSAS CITY "FREE HOT SOUP" ACTIVISTS DEFIED THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT AND CONDUCTED A PICNIC THAT WAS WELL RECEIVED BY THE LOCAL HOMELESS POPULATION!!!

Check this publicly shared photo set with a few dozen photos featuring the group in action and promoting sharing with less fortunate locals.

While Kansas City doesn't really have a viable strategy to confront the growing population of homeless on local streets, most of the populace stand against heavy handed tactics from local government aimed at thwarting volunteers.

  1. My 87-year-old mother lives near Winner Park where these FHS assholes are feeding the criminal element. The residents nearby are mostly low/fixed income people who Nellie cares nothing about. Do you know what the “homeless” ask me for when I am at my mom’s? First is money (of course), second, they ask for a place to charge their phone! Nellie and her crew come over from their nice homes in Merriam and feed the criminals then leave the residents to deal with the increased crime and violence. I would pour the bleach myself if I could.

  3. If they cared so much they would invite them into their home... Hypocrites

  4. Nothing helps homeless people like making cardboard signs and marching around "protesting".
If even a tiny fraction of the energy spent on protests, marches, vigils, and all the rest of the "look at me" nonsense that goes on in KCMO were used to actually work on understanding issues and offering serious thoughtful proposals to improve things, the city might actually make some progress.
Just another group of clueless self-absorbed "well-meaning, but" people.

  7. ^^^^People who feed the homeless have no place in Trump's America.

  10. In a clever chess move, this weekend, the food was shared in CONTAINERS, rather than dished up from a giant tray.

That might have plummoxed the KC Health Dept. And end run around regulations. Now who knows if the group used recycled Hyvee or Pricechopper containers? Or new ones from the salad bars there?

The result, of course, is now a larger recycling problem in KC, since the mayor has already announced done a three-wipe of the hands gesture and declared homelessness problem is handled!

As we know, the Chinese used to accept all our dirty plasticware from our recycling bins. But they stopped a few months ago. Now NONE of that gets recycled. Because unless it is less that 5% contaminated, it is no longer worth it to have the gals at Deffenbaugh Recycling (whatever their new name) sort it, bundle it, and ship it to China only to be rejected, thus a huge loss.

So now all food packages go into the landfill here. It's in Shawnee, but KCMO sends their trash here. And trust me, once it fills up, the next closest sanitary landfill (their term, not mine!!!) is miles away and far more costly to ALL the homeowners FOREVER-- who are well-meaning in their bravado show of compassion, before they slink back in their Hondas to Prairie Village, where homelessness truly does NOT exist.

    NIMBY!!!

The City of KCMO and their staff were trying to cover up homelessness. And a HomeOwnersAssociation was tired of it in their backyard. Bleach was an inelegant solution, obviously.

    Are we at checkmate yet???

  11. Where is leadership from Killa City mayoral contenders to feed the hungry?

  12. I said as long as they call it a picnic or tailgate party, there is nothing KC can do about it. But, like giving money to beggars on street corners, I think there are better ways to support the homeless and hungry. Feeding these people in the manner in which they were is like throwing breadcrumbs to a flock of Central Park pigeons. First, the more times you throw breadcrumbs, the larger the flock of pigeons, which results in a lot more pigeon crap. Disappointed and hungry pigeons resort to stealing from each other to fix their need, just as this poor neighborhood has to absorb the increasing number of indigents and the resulting crime and abuse. Let's see if this happens in JoCo or on Ward Parkway somewhere. Nope. These people are keeping the indigent - the great unwashed - exactly where they want them. It's like, we have to help Honduras to keep the Hondurans in Honduras. If we help the Hondurans in the US, they come to the US and now they are our problem. Yes, the poor, homeless, hungry indigents in KC are as bad as pigeons and Hondurans.

  13. "Where is leadership from Killa City mayoral contenders to feed the hungry?"

Why is it the city's job to take care of adult human beings who will not make an effort to provide for themselves?
