Clean Missouri: Never Gonna Happen

Ethics reform is a nice sentiment, something to which the very best of people aspire . . . A measure which voters overwhelmingly approve. But it has never taken hold in Missouri as hundreds of high priced consultants make their living off thwarting good government cleanup efforts. Here's the latest lesson on voters facing pushback from entrenched politicos:

Despite election night victory, fight over ethics overhaul in Missouri may not be over

JEFFERSON CITY * Missouri voters approved a constitutional amendment last week to change state ethics laws and overhaul the way the state's political maps are drawn. But with the changes scheduled to start going into effect Dec. 6, the initiative could face another round of scrutiny in a courtroom and under the Capitol dome.
