OUR WORST COWTOWN TRADITION ENDURES 2018: KANSAS CITY MARATHON!!!

Quick guide to suburbanite interlopers clogging local streets which begs the question:

Why don't they hold this thing in Overland Park????

Sure, they raise some chump change for charity but this is mostly a promenade of middle-class locals running from their lives of quiet discontent. Checkit:

Thousands of runners prepare for Saturday's Kansas City Marathon

Runners from all 50 states and 10 countries will lace up their shoes for Kansas City's premier running event Saturday. Close to 10,000 athletes are expected for the Kansas City Marathon event, which includes a half-marathon, a 10K, a 5K and a 1.2-mile kids marathon. Runner Zach Taylor is back for his second race.

  3. Uhhh… @ 10:16 when did anybody whine about "Jesus Christ on a stick"?

As a thought, why not change he route?
Have them run down "Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard", from I-35 to Reverend Emmanuel Cleaver II Boulevard, with "Participation Trophies" being presented to everyone who makes it to the Finish Line?

  4. Haha. JoCo pussies would complain if the marathon shut down 119th or 135th or wherever. It's annoying, that's why KCMO people complain. The grown-ups (KCMO residents) can complain if they want; all the little pussy kiddies (JoCo) should go take a nap.

    1. We JoCo pussies don’t want any more of the great unwashed over here. What creeps over from MO is bad enough, we don’t need 48 other states’ riff raff too.

  5. This is an important event. It gives the millennials who jog a 4 hour marathon a chance to put the little 26.2 sticker on their Prius.

  6. How come these runs are not over and around Swope Park? Or out at Longview Lake?

  7. ^^^How come you flunked third grade twice. How come you can't hold a job? Why are you functionally illiterate stupid dave?

  8. ^^^^^ Hmmm..., Zo tell me, haf you had dis obsession wit "Super Dave" long?

    ReplyDelete
  9. Thats easy Dave, it would make sense and nothing in this town makes sense.

  10. Why can't they just run 104 laps around a track? Isn't that what a running track is for?

    ReplyDelete
  11. If they had it at Swope Park or Longview Lake too many runners would get shot. Those are not safe places. Diversity has ruined them.

  12. AND THE REASON we don't use our Parks is ?

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'd be in favor of it being somewhere else, but it is once a year, and the city's not allowing the every weekend marathons like they used to.

It could be (and it has been) worse.

  14. ^^^We don't want to. There. Go complain about something else. I know you will.

  15. Supposedly it draws thousands of "runners" from around the world and all 50 states contributes $8 million to the local economy. Just part of the 25 million visitors annually to KCMO. Well la dee fuckin' da. RUN FORREST RUN!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. How dare you condemn this annual tradition! This is tourism at its finest and just shows how progressive KC is. This is the epitome of momentum. All of you lazy ass-whiners should participate, but we know your Chiefs-lovin', BBQ eatin', fa tasses can't run any further than your refrigerators to get a Bud Light.

  17. There will probably be plenty of women in taco or moose knuckle pants.

Sad 4GoKc gets his shorts, if he wears any, in a knot when denizens of the community do not follow in line and march to the city narrative.

  18. ^^^^2:28 is not the real gopher. The real gopher would say the same thing, but in five paragraphs each containing the word "momentum" at least once and scolding any criticism of any subsidies past, present or future.
