KANSAS FINALLY BROKE THE 46-GAME ROAD LOSING STREAK

KANSAS FOOTBALL WON A ROAD GAME FOR THE FIRST TIME IN NINE YEARS! The Jayhawks traveled to Central Michigan to take on the Chippewas, looking to snap the 46-game road losing streak that dated back to 2009. That long streak was finally broken as Kansas took down Central Michigan, 31-7.

Show-Me Crumbling Missouri

Missouri ranks high in number of 'structurally deficient' bridges

The bridge crossing Center Creek along Route D, just north of Webb City and south of Oronogo, shows its age. The two-lane, weight-restricted bridge - 83 years old with rusted steel evident - is also indicative of a larger problem: America's bridge infrastructure is aging, with tens of thousands of bridges nationwide deemed "structurally deficient" by engineers who say billions will need to be spent to repair or replace them.

  1. Great news, Missouri made the top 10 in another category and Jackson County made the top 3 counties in Missouri. Structurally deficient bridges in need of repair. Another part of the infrastructure failing.
This topic should sound familiar to KCMO residents who have to navigate failed infrastructure every day. Apparently the leaders do not comprehend the importance of infrastructure.

  2. Funny, isn't it - MODOT has been given large amounts of money, both Federal and State over the years to maintain roads and bridges, but somehow the needed maintenance hasn't gotten done.

Yet somehow the managerial compensation has kept going up so the State could "retain the leadership doing such a wonderful job" in the face of such a high demand for their outstanding skills elsewhere.

  5. I-70 needs to be expanded to three lanes each way, with no trucks allowed in the left lane.
