Byron Roberson with the Prairie Village Police Department. Police say that makes them easy targets - burglars don't even have to break a window to steal stuff.

Funds for WyCo Conviction Integrity Unit head to vote; community leaders urge approval
KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- It's a tentative step forward for Wyandotte County's Conviction Integrity Unit as the release of funding is set for a vote. Religious and community leaders met Monday to push for the unit to be funded immediately. KCK Mayor David Alvey said that could happen within the next week.

Prairie Village homeowner says burglary suspect intentionally ran over dog
A Prairie Village burglary victim said the suspects who robbed his house ran over his 12-year-old dog as they fled. The burglary happened not far from 79th Street and Mission. "I saw them through the bathroom window," Douglas Welch said. "I came out but I didn't have my glasses, on so I wasn't able to see much."
