DISGRACE!!! AMID ABUSE SCANDAL BLOGGER & THE KANSAS CITY STAR PUBLISH SWEEPING HATRED AGAINST ENTIRETY OF CATHOLIC CHURCH!!!

While every religion has shameful episodes as part of their history, in the current American discourse, only Catholicism is subject to outright attack and condemnation of the entire institution and all of its members.

As local right-wing critics point out, over the past few years Kansas City Public Schools have suffered more than a dozen horrific molestation accusations but nobody is demanding an end to the KCPS despite a horrific record of academic performance that should call into question its efficacy.

However, in the aftermath of the latest shameful Catholic scandal, a common theme has emerged among bloggers and the daily newspaper . . .

PIOUS LOCAL SCRIBES AREN'T ADVOCATING REFORM BUT INSTEAD WANT TO BRING ABOUT THE TOTAL DESTRUCTION OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH!!!

Example: A local blogger shares some good info but also advocates for total divestment and fails to mention a great many reforms and work against abuse among Catholics that continues in earnest . . .

Mo Rage - Catholicism: Sexual Abuse Over the Centuries

The one-sided view is forgivable for a low-rent local blogger but the so-called Kansas City paper-of-record is guilty of far worse rhetoric . . .

A recent headline seems to advocate for an end to the Church.

Kansas City Star: After Pennsylvania sex abuse report, is it too late to save the Catholic Church?

What's worse in the goofy column is a clumsy analogy regarding global climate change.

However, in a pompous passage with an artsy reference the writer reveals her true feelings about the Catholic Church and opines:

"Burn. It. Down."

Accordingly . . .

IF THIS BLANKET CONTEMPT FROM THE KANSAS CITY STAR WAS AIMED AT ANY OTHER GROUP BUT CATHOLICS IT WOULD BE REVILED AS HATE CRIME!!!

What's unfortunate is this argument quickly devolves into culture war fodder. The sordid topic of deeply held spiritual beliefs leads us down a vortex of centuries old conflict and acrimony that inevitably ties into the current terror war.

Nevertheless, while our Constitution guarantees freedom for the practice of religion and progressives tout tolerance toward faiths across the globe . . . When it comes to the beliefs and institutions of their neighbors, what we've seen this week is outright hate targeting Kansas City Catholics.

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. The Star has always hated Catholics. They've wanted to bring about an end to the faith since the late 70s. That's part of the reason so many arne't too unhappy to see where the paper is headed.

Burn it down? Really? If you wrote that about any other Church there would be police at your door by the end of the day.

  2. A Jew, a Catholic and a Muslim walk into a bar that an atheist owns...

  3. 9:39 maybe the police and the fbi should investigate, the first amendment clearly states that religion is protected from persecution. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated.

  4. Do I have to spoon feed you people?
Now why would Satan want to attack the Catholic Church and not your run-of-the-mill strip mall church?

  5. The Catholic Church has been a racket since its inception. The pedophilia just goes along with a laundry list of other dirty practices. It’s why WASPs have never wanted to get too cozy with them.

  6. The star is a racket, pandering to stupid people who freely give their money to them because they’re brain washed by fake news

    1. If that was intended for 10:50, I have never subscribed to the Star and rarely look at it online. I base my opinions on actual history, not fake news.

  7. The only Catholics that are pedophiles live in Pennsylvania.

  8. Finish the joke, @9:47...
"the Muslim realizes it's a bar and leaves, the Jew has a drink and leaves, then the Catholic (a Priest) asks the Atheist:
"Is Little Tommy around? I'd like him to help me with something in the Cathedral Basement!"

  9. And the Catholic Church has known it has this problem since the 70's, but it still doesn't have it under control.

Schools respond to molestation by firing, and by taking actions that usually results in criminal prosecution of the offenders.

The Church, on the other hand, far too often still tries to hush things up, transferring the offenders and doing its best to conceal the occurrence.

How much longer does Society have to indulge this Corporate Giant's inaction and failure to root out or even meaningfully address this problem?

Religious Freedom is a basic strength of our Constitution, but so is the concept Personal Safety and the Protection of Children.

  11. Quite a few evangelical churches have had their fair share of sex scandals.

  12. @ 12:29, did they cover it up as a matter of policy?

    ReplyDelete
  13. As a life long practicing Catholic I am ashamed for our church. We learned when Nixon was president that cover-up and dark spaces of untruth are many times worse that taking the punishment for the crime. I've actually known hundreds of priests and sisters (nuns) and none of them have ever been on this list of offenders. I know that the greatest majority of them are good God fearing people who have chosen their station in life to do good not evil. Not mentioned are the systems put in place in the past 16 years to uncover these crimes and bring perpetrators out into the light of day and face justice. The victims will always be with us but their suffering would be lessened if there was justice for all. My thoughts and prayers are that they will receive their peace and that the violators will feel the wrath of God.

  14. ^^^ Seriously you should look for another church, this type of behavior gets covered up by the church until finally a light shines on it, then they say we are so sorry for the victims and are looking into the matter.

There are other churches out there that believe in God whose son Jesus has risen to take our sins away if we believe.

To believe the catholic church has a lock on the answer to the way to heaven is a lie.

  15. This can only HELP regular child molesters. They will claim a life term is cruel and unusual punishment based on NO time served by priests. So regular child molesters will get lighter sentences or probation only. Since all people are created equal the pervs will be treated lightly, like Priests. I think we should have a uniform death sentence, no exceptions, no statute of limitations. And what about the pansy parents that have done nothing for 7 decades. They knew...they knew...

  16. We need a vigilanty group to rid the USA of problem priests. Just like the Skidmore shooting, the authorities would allow it...remember skidmoor, mo?

READERS ARE TURNED off by socialist storys. If you want to be a country like Venezuela. Go live there I GARINTEE you will be Back in the U.S.A.IN LESS THAN SIX MONTHS.

  18. 9:39 insert any other person or group in place of Catholic Church. Imam, teacher, cop, carpenter, anything. You know how much more of a reaction there would be? But for some reason they keep getting away with it over and over again. Take their tax exemption away and send their senior "leadership" to Ferderal Pounding in the Ass Prison. See how they like getting gang raped. Spare me any bullshit about charity or anything else they do. In the history of the world there has never been a more corrupt organization. Do you know how hard that is to do?

  19. Priest molestation was an open secret for years and years. Just ask any young man who was at a Catholic boarding school during his early and mid teen age years. Schools, orphanages, and charitable institutions helping youngsters have to be on a constant vigil because those places are where pedophiles congregate and thrive. It is a tragedy that such wonderful places can end up with such evil people populating them.

  21. I’ll bet anyone a nickel that the Star goes out of business before the Catholic Church.

  22. Catholics have been closet child molesters and enablers throughout history. Nothing new here.

Once a pervert always a Catholic.
