TKC MUST SEE!!! CRUMBLING KANSAS CITY STREETS STAY LOSING DESPITE INFRASTRUCTURE REPAIR PROMISES!!!

Take a look at this urban core tour of sketchy & sub-par repair work which offer an important perspective on so much election season talk about public improvements financed by taxpayers . . .

Infrastructure Fail Redux

About six weeks ago, this fed up Newsdog penned a column lamenting the ongoing orange cone obstacle course that's been moving around the neighborhood for what seems like an eternity. When one dug-up, coned off area is "completed," the whole Infra-Source circus moves to a different area or corner and begins to cause traffic, dust and steel plate headaches for a whole new batch of residents and business owners.

  2. If I could take a picture and show you guys I’m not lying I would but there is a pothole (about 1’x2’) by my house that’s been there for at least three years, it is almost in the middle of the 46th street,

    ITS GROWING GRASS IN IT!

I’ve reported this thing 8 times and nothing has happened, must’ve been a test pothole to see if they could grow flowers in them

  3. This is what one should expect from the corrupt city administration in place at this time. Time for an audit to determine how many received and how much the kickbacks are if any. Common knowledge that the developers are getting their pockets lined. Keep voting these people in and this is what you get in return.

  4. The city's parks and recreation department has a pothole pansy program where they are planting flowers in the potholes. Part of the city beautification project.

  5. As a person who is not a shut-in, and actually leaves the house to go to work and a host of other places, I can attest to several infrastructure repairs going on currently on the streets of Kansas City. Hell, you a had a story about all the bitching about the repair work being done on Wornall Road yourself! Where did all that money come from? Maybe quit playing to the geriatric complainers all the time Tony, the rest of us are not that stupid.

  6. Saw this in a story from Europe. Get some dirt and plant flowers in pot holes. It helps warn other drivers and brings the hole to the attention of the city.

  7. NORTH KANSAS CITY, Mo. - By the time some people living in North Kansas City get home from work, their street could have a fresh layer of pavement. The city is in the process of resurfacing residential roads.

Oops, sorry. The above was taken from 41 news. Did not see NKC at first. Got excited and thought Slie finally working on neighborhood infrastructure>

    HOW SILLY OF ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. @8:07 Just because there is a project going on on Wornall doesn't mean the city is taking care of things. The streets in K.C. are terrible and you can't even tell what lane your in with the paint worn off all around the city. People on 55th st pay huge taxes and the streets are full of holes, the people who are benefiting from the so called go bond money are the developers who are getting free infrastructure for their projects that will set empty while they collect write offs. K.C. should have NEVER voted for that go bond!

The streets in the entire city are horrible, no parking for new builds, it's like putting lipstick on a pig with the ridiculous patch jobs.

Repairing and maintaining streets is what cities do.
That's how they contribute to an environment that is attractive and satisfying for residents, businesses, and visitors, all three.
Also, safe neighborhoods, an even-handed balanced predictable tax system, reliable utilities at reasonable rates, common sense planning and zoning, thoughtful business regulations, a 311 system that's responsive to residents, and all the rest.
That's how a city government contributes to economic growth and jobs.
KCMO's focus on subsidizing any "developer" with a pulse, taking on increasing debt to finance glitzy projects, chasing after political conventions and sports extravaganzas, using money specifically raised for one purpose on programs completely unrelated, and hype, hype, hype and NOT indicating so much as a passing interest in its most basic responsibilities is like buying expensive wallpaper for a house whose foundation is falling down.
If your home is being broken into, try calling the Chamber of Commerce, VisitKC, or some bond attorney.
    Good luck!

  10. Freudian slip Go4KC says, "Potholes, schmotholes, we're big picture people dowm here at city hall. You want your potholes fixed? Do it yourself. Or get Dominoes to do it. You got a streetcar. What more do you want from us?"

  11. @8:07-Forget it Jake, it's Geezerland. We all know none of these "kick-ass TKC insiders" has ever been out of their homes. Most of them have lost their licenses a long time ago. Believe me, you don't want these chronic-complainers out on the roads. These complainers need to validate their worthlessness everyday by complaining about EVERYTING. It makes them feel better about being such a miserable waste if they can slag everything.

  12. 8:56 a girl that works at dominoes in independence told me that they won’t do kcmo potholes, there’s too many and it would cost to much.

    True story.

  14. Funny how this story pops up today and there’s a large crew of city workers patching potholes on blue pkwy right now, they’ve almost been run over three times as I was passing through. People in the hood can’t drive one bit

  15. As long as the trolley is up and running to get people to Fringe Fest all is well. MOMENTUM! KC=NY

  16. As long as this city is home to an aging geriatric population, TKC will never suffer a lack of comments. It will suffer from a lack of valid, coherent comments however, but that's another story.

  18. 9:54 you are the definition of incoherent, you’re the only one that comes on here and adds nothing to a conversation, you are the most negative and hateful person, typical of a person who works at city hall.
