THE LAST JUDGEMENT IS AT HAND AS HUMANITY SLOUCHES TOWARD THE END OF DAYS: WITNESS KANSAS CITY METRO SELFIE-STUDIO JOURNALISM!!!

Invariably in the daily adventures of TKC, we run across some crusty former newspaper scribe who bemoans social media, the Internets and this blog community in particular.

Newspaper hacks argue against TKC technique, tactics and even typos in a desperate search to make their corporate stenography seem somewhat more important or valuable at the dawn of the post-truth era.

Lamenting former glory or a bygone era is a neat party trick and something to pass the time in between the always desperate search for poon-tang socializing BUT it's a futile gesture that's easily debunked.

And so we share this local news report in order to clearly demonstrate that the decline of Western Civilization isn't a myth or a just a cool punk rock documentary title.

Here's one of the most popular Kansas City news reports this week that should destroy any semblance of faith in journalism or American culture . . .

KMBC: It’s called the, selfie boutique, in Leawood. Local artists set up exhibits then open the doors so folks can take selfies . . .

Take a peek:

Now, we could mythbust this report and inform readers that it's really just a bit of promo for Tech N9ne's record company and one of their new artists who is also the talentless, fortunate adult teen daughter of Tech's biz partner. In reality, this report is just typical media product placement . . . But it goes deeper than that because it attempts to sell a false narrative to youngsters and sends them down a horrific path wherein the social media hive mind rules a world that's hopelessly spinning toward oblivion under the weight of its own hubris, a Twitter troll President and hapless SJW hashtag activists.

I've always written this blog knowing that long after humanity has been cleansed from the planet, some hard drive will continue to store the data we've created and maybe alien cultures might one day discover the words of our irascible Kansas City conversation.

Therefore TKC feels the need to offer a warning regarding the danger of the Kansas City metro selfie-studio.

For better or worse, the terminology employed by The U.S. Department of Energy comes to mind as they have devised universal warning markers at Yucca Mountain for the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) nuclear waste storage facilities.

And so, for anyone entering the selfie-studio in Leawod. Here's the word:

This place is a message… and part of a system of messages… pay attention to it! Sending this message was important to us. We considered ourselves to be a powerful culture.

This place is not a place of honor…no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here… nothing valued is here.

What is here is dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.

The danger is in a particular location… it increases toward a center… the center of danger is here… of a particular size and shape, and below us.

The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.

The danger is to the body, and it can kill.

The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.

The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.

You've been warned.

  5. @ 7:36, I take offense at your overly-broad characterization - I'll have you know that I am not "Dreck", I am a LOUT!

You can call yourself "dreck" for being one of those who populate this blog if you wish, but I have worked hard to achieve the status of "LOUT", and I respectfully ask that you recognize my efforts.

    I thank you.

  7. So, some constructive criticism for the girl and the pop music vid; from someone who doesn't listen to pop and doesn't listen to rap anymore these days though I have seen Tech9 in two small venues before he became popular (missed Rockfest a couple years back but I'm sure that would've been neat.

On to the critique: that official video was basically three clips of her in various poses riding in a car in the rain. If you're telling a specific story, advance the story in those clips. There is one in particular that is literally the exact same 15-25 seconds in three parts of the vid. That makes it seem like an amateur production for Strange (though I realize most of their work is for Tech9's vids). Second, the article talks about her private school upbringing and opera training. I would figure out how to use that in the music. It sounded over-produced including auto-tuning. Maybe that's a "requirement" for that genre, but for someone who should be able to belt out some strong accurate vocals, give it a go ala Amy Lee.

  8. She's one of the nicest people out there if you ever meet her. She's super kind and does volunteer work all over the metro. Whether she has talent is a judgement call, but having her in the metro area is definitely a positive. I'm happy she can follow her dream

  9. The girl and accompanying clip are NOT the point of this blog. I commend TKC. Good article about the impossibility of determining real truth in today's media marsh. Also, mention of post human remains is interesting. It seems every species (except cockroaches) has a limited existence. We are particularly stupid, so our time will be relatively short (unless we conquer space so we can get away from each other).

Basement Boy may outlive everyone, and still be in the basement when the aliens arrive.
