just drove up main street to plaza area. it's far.
ReplyDeletei wonder how long the trip would take at the speed the streetcar goes......anybody know?
It'll take a damn long time - the System we installed can't operate up steep hills like to one to the East of The Liberty Memorial or to the North of Brush Creek.
ReplyDeleteWhen the Expansion is underway, the City will "suddenly" discover this fact (it's on the manufacturer's website), and the entire System will have to be scrapped and replaced!
The replacement will be necessary so we "don't throw good money after bad"!
When it eventually goes to UMKC, people will use it to transfer to buses going east of Troost on Linwood, 39th street and Emanuel Cleaver blvd. That means that people of color or other people who now ride the bus will be on the streetcar. And the white people streetcar lovers will be scared away from riding it, same as they are afraid to ride the Max bus.
