Show-Me Dead-Tree Media Against The Guv

Kansas City Star Seyz The Guv is guilty no matter what happens in court OR, some say, this is simply partisan punditry disguised as political analysis disguised as editorial analysis. Read more:

Whatever happens in court this week, Gov. Eric Greitens deserves to be impeached

This will be quite a week for Eric Greitens and for all Missourians. As soon as a jury can be seated, the governor's first criminal trial will begin in St. Louis, where he faces a felony charge of invasion of privacy.

  2. Of course the media is after Greitens. It’s envy. None of them will ever fuck a slut as hot as that hairdresser.

  6. The only way to believe The Kansas City Star editorial board not guilty of the behavior it’s accused of, former subscribers report, “is to believe that everyone else is lying, and I’m not prone to believing conspiracy theories.” Kansas City metro residents aren't either.

Ultimately, only one entity is to blame for the editorial board's problems, and that’s The Kansas City Star editorial board.

Subscribers made the strongest possible case against an arrogant out-of-touch editorial board who indulged in the usual magical thinking that they’d never pay any price for their partisan derelict actions.

In fact, Colleen Nelson's decision not to pursue her publicly stated promise to represent diverse viewpoints is more mystifying than her assumption that the subscriber base would turn up.

Whatever happens in the court of public opinion this week won’t change our view that Nelson deserves to be sacked, though.

Or that Kansas City Missouri (the state's most populated city) deserves a daily media source who has not been credibly accused of compromised values, political partisanship and careless indifference.

Bankruptcy is not apt to happen quickly, but it’s more important that it be handled correctly, which is why we’ve repeatedly asked The Kansas City Star editorial board to step down for the good of the city, not to mention for their own sanity.

That there are readers involved makes their refusal to do so even more heartbreaking than it is infuriating. Kansas City will recover from their ugly self-indulgence, and so will the state of media coverage, but the innocent reader may or may not, and that too, will be on them.
