  1. KC political insiders like to drink at the members-only River Club.

Readers will recall this was the secret venue where Mayor James, City Manager Schulte, and Councilperson Justus colluded with Burns and McDonnell to award them a billion-dollar (+) no-bid contract for an unnecessary new single terminal airport. That Burns and McDonnell was Mayor James' largest campaign contributor and had already seen the city finance their headquarters expansion had nothing to do with it....wink wink.

  2. KCMO may be the "most exciting cocktail city", but when you sober up and go home, you're still living in the most boring place on the planet.

  3. Hahahaha. Sorry. Kansas City is not the 'most exciting' city for anything other than maybe ancient Asian art at the Nelson-Atkins and Thomas Hart Benton fans. Okay, and maybe BBQ.

  4. The best places to drink in KC are its assorted dive bars and neighborhood joints that have been around for at least a decade or more. These fly by the night "hot spots" are great for soulless losers who like to dress up, order expensive drinks, and talk shit about how everyone else looks.

  5. ^^^ +100.

Absolutely, the dive bars totally win out over so many of these places that cater to the same 20 people. What a shame!
