CELEBRATE KANSAS CITY 'MOTHERS IN CHARGE' $40K RUNNING FUNDRAISER

Our blog community has often had disagreements with "Mothers In Charge" because so many of their talking points are anti-2nd-Amendment and seek to disarm their own communities and strip away Constitutional rights rather than provide safety.

Still, it's Mother's Day and this bit of local hipster lady activism is no nice that we wanted to share . . .

First, a description . . .

Cara Gilmore is one of the top trainers in Kansas City, leader, and instructor at Pilates 1901. What you might not know about her is that she is passionate about not only her work but in making the planet a better and safer place to live.

That's why she got involved with KC Mothers in Charge.

KC Mothers in Charge is a group of mothers, grandmothers, aunts and a caring community committed to working to prevent others from experiencing the tragedy of homicide. Their mission is to reduce violent crime through prevention and intervention and to guide and support the families of victims.

Cara is turning 40 soon and wanted to do something to support KC Mothers in Charge and bring awareness to the cause. She's decided she will run 40 miles for her 40th birthday with the goal of raising $40,000 for Mothers in Charge.

Take a look:

Also, the song of the day is The Intruders "I'll Always Love My Mama" (1973) . . .

  1. Actually, very nice.

Maybe this kind of effort will help them get off KCMO taxpayer assistance for this group.

  2. My thoughts exactly, 7:30. This group offers emotional support to victims’ families, which is a nice thing that should be funded by donations, not tax dollars.

  3. Do they also have a male equivalent, "Fathers In Jail"?

  4. Maybe the revs of the east side "faith community" should spend more of their time offering emotional support of crime victims' families and a whole lot less time shaking down governments and corporations for cash, demanding that streets be renamed, and intimidating executives to hire people based on their race.
Surely there's some time available for pastoral counseling.

  5. IN JUNE WE CELEBRATE FATHERS...BABYDADDY...AND WHO DAT BE?...DAY!5/13/18, 4:26 PM

Listen to the "rapping" at the end of their song between the guys in that band. They say dad's out drinking all night, then comes home in wrinkled clothes the next morning to mom's homemade biscuits that he says are the best.

    Drunks, dysfunctions, and co-dependencies--
--the same FUBAR gaining for over fortyfive years!

  6. They are doing a great job. I do not remember seeing anything about a mother committing a murder.

  7. If more mothers (and fathers) really were in charge, there would be a lot less of the BS crime that plagues the negro community. Unfortunately it’s easier to nail jello to the wall than to find black parents who are truly interested in their offspring.
