A tradition that TKC never really understood is now a distant memory . . . Here's the home team parting with the past and forgoing a fanboy tradition, probably for the best:
'The W Guy' KayCee no longer part of the Kansas City Royals team
Even after back-to-back wins at Kauffman Stadium over the weekend - you won't see the W flying. The Kansas City Royals have parted ways with KayCee - 'The W Guy'. His role of hanging a W on the Royals Hall of Fame in left field started in 2014 and quickly became a popular tradition.
W for "Why??" I LIKE the tradition. Maybe because they haven't had much use for him lately and are saving their pennies?
ReplyDeleteHe was also worked in the museum. Every time I talked to him, he was full of historical Royals information. He would greet kids and fans from around the nation and share bits of knowledge while you stood in line for the next movie - or to get a blast of the AC. I have much more respect and appreciation for this type of "mascot" than a cartoon lion that doesn't even speak. Surely there was room for both?
ReplyDeleteDumb
ReplyDeleteJust because we are tanking this season and we don’t put up many W doesn’t mean they should stop that, especially to focus on sluggers post game celebration. That’s dumb
Yes, but wait till you all get a look at the new "L" Bikini Babe!
ReplyDeleteI'd rather have the girl who went in the fountains she's pretty, I wonder how much money the Royals forked over to the "W" dude. it would probably make you shudder.
ReplyDeleteYes to the Bikini Babe - the Fountain Girl was NOT pretty - and no one is getting rich at the K unless you are in uniform or have an office and wear a suit. (and a replica 1950's uniform does not count).
ReplyDeleteHorrible decision.
ReplyDeleteMy family liked this guy and it was fun to watch him.
Great presenter at Royals museum... he added to it.
We need a public outcry.
Worst decision ever except the signing and continuation of player Alex Gordon.
^^^Nah, no one misses him except for the bandwagon leeches who will be gone this year anyway. Good riddance to him and all the front runners who never mattered anyway.
ReplyDeleteA bandwagon leech is one who stays for 30 years no matter what and gets vindicated by watching they're team become World Champs. And what or who is a "front runner" who never mattered anyway?? Explain your comment please?
ReplyDelete^^No. The comment speaks itself. A bandwagon leech who stays for 30 years is by its very definition NOT a bandwagon fan. You seem really, really dumb. Any explanation would be wasted on you.
ReplyDeleteI thought he was kind of creepy,
ReplyDeletebet they let him go due to sexual harassment claims.
They let him go because they thought he was making fun of moose, if that’s the case the royals are idiots. I garauntee you the players can say and do anything they want and get away with it. Just stupid just like 12:44 is
ReplyDeleteNO - you said bandwagon leech not bandwagon fan - a bandwagon leach by its very definition is someone that holds on no matter what. A bandwagon fan is one that may just hop on and off whenever the winning streak magically happens. Get your story straight - prick.
