TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! TRANSIT ACTIVIST CLAY CHASTAIN LAUNCHES $3-MILLION LAWSUIT AGAINST KANSAS CITY!!!
Kansas City's most prolific transit activist has a reasonable point to make here in terms of alleged political intimidation against unpopular viewpoints and ballot initiatives that have been upheld by the KC Election Board & The City Clerk . . .
Here's the latest . . .
Clay Chastain files $3 million defamation suit against City for publishing his name on "Watch List" for "possibly dangerous" individuals or terrorists.
For 5-years, under the Sly James Administration, the City published Clay Chastain's name on its "Watch List" for individuals the City deemed "possibly dangerous" and apparently capable of committing acts of violence, or terrorism, against the City or its employees. When trying to enter City Hall, to turn in his petitions, the City repeatedly detained Chastain, unduly searched Chastain and required Chastain be escorted about City Hall with an ARMED SECURITY GUARD. This undue act of force against Chastain humiliated, intimidated and embarrassed him as he was under constant ARMED guard while conversing with the City Clerk, her staff, other City Hall employees and even elected officials.
Chastain's young daughter (who often accompanied Chastain to City Hall) witnessed all this as well.
The City profiled Chastain as "possibly dangerous" even though Chastain has never committed any act of violence, nor threatened an act of violence, against anyone or any organization, group, etc. Though impassioned for his cause, Chastain is a professed Christian and a peaceful family man with two daughters, the youngest of which he was granted sole physical custody of by the Virginia courts 4-years ago. The courts would never award a father sole custody of his child if he had committed any acts of violence or terror.
One can only assume City Hall has acted hateful and devious toward Clay Chastain because the City wants to undermine public support for Chastain and his moral causes which challenges the City's leadership.
The Defamation complaint (see attachment) alleges the City deliberately (and with actual malice) published a false claim - that Chastain was dangerous - in order to harm Chastain and malign his public reputation.
Perhaps Mayor Sly James can climb the highest hill in Kansas City, blow his bullhorn both loud and shrill as he explains to the community why the City considered Chastain "possibly dangerous."
Furthermore, the Mayor can also explain that if Chastain was considered so dangerous by the City, why did the City immediately remove Chastain's name from its "Watch List" just because Chastain threatened to sue the City.
Otherwise, Sly James will be issued a subpoena to explain it all to a jury.
The government exist to serve the people, not malign them.
