SHAME!!! KANSAS CITY STAR SCRIBE SHARES RACIST NOTE FROM HATERZ!!!
Kansas City is a place known for Midwestern kindness and hospitality but, sadly, it seems that reputation has been tarnished thanks to the divisive discourse of the current epoch.
To wit . . .
HOOPZ BRAVELY RECENTLY SHARED A NASTY AND RACIST NOTE ATTACKING HER JOURNALISTIC SKILL!!!
Here's a screenshot of the attack and some of her response:
A couple of things that need to be addressed . . .
The Knee-Jerk Reaction Is Wrong: This Isn't A "Race Hoax" Note
Comments on this post should be proof enough that haterz constantly attack this journalist and project their petty, apoplectic and misinformed viewpoints on her work.
Nasty Racist Attacks Only Validate Otherwise Clueless Content From Hoopz
The social media missive from Jeneé Osterheldt might rightfully play the race card in this instance but even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
Hoopz is consistently myopic and contrived in most of her work but that doesn't given her critics license to engage in verbal abuse or threats.
In fact, nasty notes like the one she highlights kill the conversation before it starts and create an unproductive and entrenched environment wherein compromise or even understanding are nearly impossible.
Even worse . . . Racist attacks give the atrociously liberal columnist the higher ground because she's not out there writing disgusting ad hominem post-its to validate her self worth.
Sadly, that kind of note is the physical manifestation of the low standards which American discourse has achieved amidst the digital era.
But things aren't so bad . . .
Even on this blog which always gets heat for nasty free speech comments . . . We notice some diamonds in the rough from Conservative writers like Super Dave, Chuck and Jameson . . . Clever observations from faves like the Retro Rocker or Hyperblogal . . . And valid progressive counterpoints from Phil, Another Midtown Mom or Angela K.
In the final analysis, dwelling on garbage is a waste of time and often merely a foil used to validate equally meritless arguments. Call it feet of clay or garbage built upon garbage . . . What's more inspiring and happens often enough to vindicate this blogging journey is that a decent bit of writing regularly finds its way to smarter people who contribute thoughtful arguments and rise above even the most crass debate.
And so, while Hoopz may not appreciate, accept or even care about our support for her work . . . This call for just a bit of decorum is important nevertheless . . . Even if we think it should always be open season for printed hateration on that shrew Mary Sanchez.
