TKC WEEKEND RACIAL PROFILING RAGE: VIRAL VIDEO FEATURES WEEPING WOMEN ASKED TO LEAVE INDEPENDENCE, MO APPLEBEE'S AMID DINE & DASH DISPUTE!!!
Over the weekend, the greatest controversy RAGING in local social media denizens was a debate over d-list dining and a tense situation near the Meth Town Mall.
WITH MILLIONS OF VIEWS, TENS OF THOUSANDS OF SHARES AND COMMENTS . . . THE APPLEBEE'S NEAR THE FINANCIALLY INSOLVENT INDEPENDENCE CENTER CAME UNDER FIRE FOR SHODDY CUSTOMER RELATIONS!!!
Check the video as the Independence, MO officer probably deserves a medal for keeping the peace as the accused women wail and staffers seem unable to competently deal with a standard problem for any restaurant.
What we notice from the comments is even those supporting the women want them to stop crying . . . To be fair, here's the social media testimony according to one of the ladies involved . . .
"My friend and I were shopping at the Independence center in Independence, Missouri (Near Kansas City), when we were done we decided to get a bite to eat at Applebee’s.
About an hour into out dinner we were approached by a Independence police officer, a mall cop, and the restaurant manager. We were told that we were accused of eating and not paying for CHICKEN the day before (dining and dashing). Mind you that we have proof that can show our whereabouts and it’s not even in our character to steal.
After being mocked, humiliated, and embarrassed we were asked to pay for our food, leave, and not come back.
After leaving, calls were made to the restaurant and the manager stated that our accuser remembered that there was a SKINNY girl and a girl who wore MAKEUP. In 2018 is this really what we’re debased to? Our weight and whether or not we wore makeup. She could not recognize any facial features or any defining characteristics . This is a clear example of RACIAL PROFILING that should not be stood for. Just because we are black does not mean we are all criminals and I will not be treated as such. #repost Applebee's Grill & Bar"
TKC alternative perspective . . . Getting kicked out of Applebee's is probably the best thing to happen to any person because it offers them a reason to never come back or at least should inspire more creative dining options.
Still, what's certain here is that we haven't heard the end of this controversy as the local culture war now evolves into a debate over entrés.
