TKC SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! TURBULENCE AHEAD FOR #BETTERKCI NEW AIRPORT AS CAMPAIGN PROMISES ALREADY BROKEN!!!
Most of the voting public and council-members have been horribly fatigued by all of the fighting over the new airport and that's unfortunate because the real fun hasn't even started yet.
What we've seen so far is newsies writing propaganda and congratulatory press release copy in order to trick the public into thinking the deal over airport construction is done. Nothing could be further from reality.
Moreover . . .
WE'RE JUST GETTING STARTED WITH THE KANSAS CITY NEW AIRPORT HOT MESS AS THE FIGHT FOR CONTRACTS BEGINS!!!
A few highlights . . .
Expect Another Horrific MBE/WBE Battle With Local Unions Losing Business As Organized Labor Was Basically Slapped In The Face By A Few Leaders & City Hall
Edgemoor is quickly earning a reputation as "anti-union" in Kansas City and that's the kiss of death for any business in this town.
Union lady Bridgette was exceptionally flighty on this deal and didn't consult with a lot of her colleagues who regularly cope with complaints over diversity on projects. We haven't seen the last of this MBE/WBE squabble and the City Council chatter has only served to prove that it's not just a horrible distraction but a tragically divisive weakness in KCMO bidding policy.
Council Dude Quinton Lucas Just Burned Most Of His Northland Bridges And Now His Effectiveness And Appeal Are Under Attack Despite His Excellent Elocution
He still has his fans, which includes TKC, but Council Dude Quinton's flip-flop on this vote sold out some of his strongest allies.
Let's not forget that the Quinton Lucas political rise to power was touted by the late great KCMO political consultant Steve Glorioso who is now resting in his cold, cold grave. All of those stories praising the reputation of Mr. Lucas before he earned his spot or did much but volunteer as part of a busy social schedule didn't write themselves and included behind the scenes advocacy of one of the top tipsters in all of Kansas City pressing his media connections on behalf of his favorite young lawyer.
So, while Mr. Lucas remains one of the most impressive members of the Council, it's clear that he'll have a harder time getting things accomplished in the future as his list of political adversaries is starting to pile up.
Politicos Told Kansas City Voters They Wouldn't Have To Pay For The New Airport In One Of The Greatest Scams Ever Perpetrated Against This Town!!!
One more time for the cheap seats . . .
THE SILLY IDEA THAT KANSAS CITY TAXPAYERS WOULD AVOID PAYING A GREAT DEAL OF MONEY FOR THE NEW AIRPORT WAS NOTHING BUT AN OUTRIGHT LIE!!!
City Hall has ALREADY spent $1.4-Million to get us this far and new legislation includes "out of pocket" costs of up to $30-million.
Only fools and consultants believe the things that politicos say during election campaigns and now KCMO is getting a costly lesson in this axiom whilst news outlets earn favors and tax breaks to stay silent about this betrayal.
For now, the punchline of the new airport debate is that it's all in service of a smaller, less convenient and far more crowded "glass and plastic" facility.
