Police want more dispatchers and they've been denied and berated publicly by Mayor Sly James.
While we won't argue that attendance at budget meetings is effective, it's definitely a learning experience.
Check the schedule of these morning & weekend meetings where the illusion of local Democracy remains intact . . .

- Thursday, March 8, 12:30 - 2:30 pm at KCPD Community Room, 1111 Locust St.
Additionally, public feedback will be accepted during City Council budget deliberations. These sessions take place at City Hall, 414 East 12th Street, in the 10th floor committee room at 8:30 a.m., March 7, 14 and 21 during the Finance & Governance Committee meeting.
You also may provide your thoughts via our online town hall at KCMomentum.com. You can read the budget and leave your comments 24/7, at your convenience. Your feedback will be shared with the City Council.

Developing . . .
The will not listen, why waste your time.
ReplyDeleteKCMO residents can yell, scream, march around, jump up and down, hold their breaths until their faces turn blue, and even vote...
ReplyDeleteand it makes absolutely no difference.
You'd be better off visiting the Chamber boardroom and asking the swells what their top priorities for the taxpayers are.
Of course, if you live in KCMO you can always move.
Will there be donuts and/or pastries for public consumption?
ReplyDeleteOne can dream of escaping this crime ridden rapidly becoming overpriced rat race though. Crime, politics, lack of affordable housing, we're on the way.
ReplyDeleteGood info but I've noticed that this meeting is often packed with consultants and non-profits begging for money. What they do is laud the council and mayor and offer praise in order to get their slice of the pie. It's frustrating to watch because they pose as residents and a lot of them don't even live in KCMO.

ReplyDeleteYes, there will be donuts and coffee. BYOB though!
The Mayor only goes to one or two. I really doubt he will come to the meeting at the police station because he doesn't like hearing negative feedback.
ReplyDeletewhy Is it that the only two colored mayors we have had have killed us by taxing us to death

DeleteHey everyone the kickbacks and fraud are here
ReplyDeleteI've been to many of these meetings where they pretend to consider your input. I agree with most of the comments about waste of time. It's a dog and pony show with the end result being NOTHING.
ReplyDeleteGet a half dozen FBI dressed guys standing around against the walls. Watch the rats squirm.
ReplyDeleteno they wont because the fbi is just as worthless as the politicians
