Jackson County Audit Coming Soon As Politicos Fear Election Season

It seems that Courthouse politicos finally agree on something: They need help doing their jobs and managing the finances of the County.

Take a look:

Examiner: County, White looking toward state audit

Deets:

"Executive Frank White and the Legislature have been in conflict for months over control of various county funds, and legislators have said repeatedly White’s office has skirted the rules that require that large expenditures – $10,000 or more – get legislative approval. The two sides are in court over control of the $23 million-a-year Combat anti-drug fund.

"Legislator Greg Grounds, R-Blue Springs, asked that a resolution requesting the state auditor to step in be drawn up, and Chair Scott Burnett, D-Kansas City, said that’s likely to happen in the coming days."

Meanwhile, filing for county offices opens Feb. 27 as Legislator & Women's Rights Crusader Crystal Williams fears opposition along with the Exec.

  1. Williams and White are pathetic. In a healthy democracy they would welcome and encourage challengers. They'd want what's best for the county, not just themselves. And it'd be best for Jackson County if these two got voted out.

  2. I can't wait to hear what the auditor has to say about all those $9,999 contracts Frank White has been doling out. They might be legal, but they sure ain't ethical.

  3. Combat needs to end. They all need to be voted out.

  4. Dan Tarwater is recruiting opponents against Frank and Crystal. Time to throw the bum Tarwater out. Then he can be a republican like his deadbeat dad brother.

  6. Might be about time to dust off those passports and research countries that don't have extradition treaties.
Auditors and feds in the Jackson County courthouse are very bad news for quite a few folks.
    Any document preservation orders yet?

  7. @7:10 Jackson County is sick. Just about anywhere else Frank White would be worrying about staying out of jail, not trying to get reelected.

  8. 7:44 I hope to God someone runs against Frank. I'd vote for ABF (Anybody But Frank).
