Independence Center Mall faces foreclosure within days

The Independence Center Mall is scheduled for foreclosure February 16, according to an article in The Kansas City Star. Traditional indoor shopping malls have been closing in large numbers across the country, said Vince Barker, University of Kansas business professor.

  3. I care! I don't want it to close.

  4. It's not "days from closing." That's just Tony lying.

  5. Where does anyone say anything about closing?? Someone else will pick up the debt, and the mall remains open.
Thank goodness you aren't handling financial affairs on the side.

  6. Foreclosure is a paperwork item, no, that crap-hole of a mall isn't anywhere close to closing. Just like a house, foreclosure doesn't mean your sitting out on your rump, you have 6 months or so to make it right or the bank will find new investors. Same principle here.

  7. Foreclosure does not mean the dump FKA Independence Center is going to close. Someone or some company will own it and will want to collect the rent. The loser is probably the City of Independence or Jackson County from any unfulfilled incentive agreements.
Stop the panic causing fake news stories. Your local Independence thug hang out will still be there for you.

  8. Damn it to hell. I was hoping Independence would give away more tax payer money on empty retail space. No fear though! The toothless methheads will vote in the internet sales tax no matter what happens. That will save the city as soon as they hire another 300 bureaucrats to figure out how they will collect it. I kind of expect a vendor in Houston Texas could give a rats ass what Independence City sales tax ordinance says since there is no real way to enforce it outside of the Independence area.

  9. If it closes, where will all the hood rats go?

  10. I'm sorry to see it go, but it doesn't surprise me. When a mall has to have it's own police station, you know there's trouble in Meth Town. Last time I wandered over there, mall was full of boon teens just hanging out. Time to say goodbye.

  11. That just means the hoodrats will find a new place to eff up and wreak havoc.

By the way, meth heads don’t go shopping at malls, they do their shopping at night in your cars and houses

  12. I bet Sears and Kmart put them out of business, right Eddie?
