TKC TOLD YOU SO!!! KANSAS CITY FAILED NORTHLAND STREETS AMID WINTER ICE!!!

Temperatures are supposed to rise today and FINALLY melt some of the ice which has plagued local side streets untouched by City Hall salt trucks or shovels this week.

Starting Monday we talked about scant City Hall snow & ice removal resources and it seems throughout the recent cold spell our blog community complaints were CONFIRMED by residents.

Whilst Downtown & The Crossroads enjoyed clean streets . . . The fastest growing part of KCMO was yet again neglected.

Here is one of many examples . . .

Fox4: Northland residents frustrated by city’s lack of plowing on icy residential streets

Deets:

"Ice is still covering large portions of city roads in the Northland, and residents say they've been dealing with the issue for quite some time."

Now . . .

ONCE AGAIN, WHEN IT COMES TO SNOW & ICE REMOVAL: HAS KANSAS CITY FAILED NEIGHBORHOODS THIS WINTER???

You decide . . .

Comments

  1. The City has decided to rely entirely on their brand new "Solar-Powered" Ice and Snow Removal System in the Northland.

Northland residents need to be aware of this change from the system used in previous years, whereby Trucks equipped with snow plowing equipment drove through residential streets at ten miles above the posted speed limit with their plowing blades raised six inches above the street surface, in order for their on-board GPS Systems to register coverage of the street.

In other words, shut up, give us our Tax Money, and either hire private services to clear your damn streets or wait for it to melt!

  2. There is no more money.
    Read the tea leaves people.
A few more chuckholes and shittier roads every year.
Basic services going away slowly to never come back.
America in decline, slow but noticeable if you're paying attention.

Equating the KCMO government operation with "America" is truly an exercise in delusion.
Drive west across the state line and see how things work.

  4. Also amazing is when we are told that they can't salt because it's too cold. Yet the salt they use in RIverside and Gladstone and NKC seems to work fine. One can literally find the city limits from where the clean street turns into snow packed. Someday someone is going to be hurt when they are zipping up Antioch at the speed limit coming from Gladstone and hit the snowpack at NE 77th.

  5. I saw multiple public works trucks on Tuesday throwing salt down on 100% completely clear main streets in the Ruskin area while the side streets didn’t get plowed or salted. It doesn’t make any sense why sidestreets don’t get any attention. There was so much salt it sounded like you were driving on gravel roads

  6. The city did a great job.
Threw more salt then really needed because of overstock from previous non snow years.
The week is over and we all survived, next.

    People up North, drive slower.
