TKC MUST SEE!!! KANSAS CITY NEWSIE MARK ALFORD DEBUTS PODCAST!!!

One of the leading journalists in Kansas City ventures into the digital space with an epic debut worth a look tonight.

He explains it best - Take a look:

Mark Alford KC

Intro . . .

Hi there, I'm Mark Alford. Many of you may know me from Fox 4 here in Kansas City. But, I'm much more than a morning tv anchor. I LOVE Kansas City and it's rich, creative and diverse community. I enjoy riding my Harley around the city, eating at local restaurants, watching the Chiefs and Royals play, and taking in the wild art at First Friday's in the KC Crossroads.

Over the past several years, as a realtor, I have also enjoyed helping people find their dream homes in any price range. I've also helped many people sell their homes and downsize. Since I was 15, I've also had a passion for custom clothing. It brings me a lot of joy to fit people into the most comfortable and fashionable threads. When I find the time, I also enjoy creating art. My favorite medium is watercolors. In addition to my tv anchoring, I also have a Youtube channel where I like to feature the untold stories of the great people from Kansas City I meet when I'm out and about.

My goal here is to show you the BEST of Kansas City, my favorite restaurants, interesting homes, fascinating venues and the latest happenings around town . . .

And here's his kickoff . . .

  1. Very nice.

Mark is one of the best in KC and it's cool to see him take his social media game to the next level.

Have a feeling that's the future for anchor's in this town. Mark is just getting ahead of the game.

    1. Tech is an excellent 1st choice. Opens up his audience beyond the morning crowd.

    2. Did not know that he made clothes. Better title for his site: Renaissance man KC.

      Cool podcast Mark!

  5. I'm guessing that not a lot of denizens are wearing bespoke.

And no, the one-of-a-kind skidmark pattern in your drawers doesn't count.

  6. Bet he doesn't steal stuff from the Shawnee Mission Post.

  7. Coolio kinda guy , saw him at the OUTLAW , VERY MUCH normal & not a stuck up pozer, wishing success !

  8. Does he stumble over every word like he does on Fox4? God. It is so hard to listen to. Can he not read? I'll stick to Jade DeGood and that amazing rack on 41.

  9. I like Mark.

Very funny stuff and he knows what stories matter most to the viewers. He's been a favorite of mine for years. Listening to the podcast now and it's pretty good. Definitely on my subscription list.

  12. Ok, I'm going to comment while I listen to some of this.

First up, I'll admit I thought it probably was going to be lame. From the opening, Alford seems to be relaxed, serious, and curious with his questioning.

I don't care for the guest because he's an "act" as opposed to a real person. A middle-aged cliche' rapper who surprisingly has difficulty clearly expressing himself.

Alford should have aborted the interview when this asshole started detailing his heavy drug use and whoring.

Speaking of aborting, I'm quitting now and it's only at the 12:20 mark.

Get a better guest Alford, please.

  13. I bet it's a short podcast.

  14. The fact that KC finds this guy entertaining in any capacity is tragic.

  15. Yeah, I can't see this lasting very long.
"Course I've been wrong before, Trump did make it through his first year, so I guess maybe -if the KC audience is really desperate!

  16. I like Mark, and wish him well.
I admire him for being industrious and always cheerful, and for developing other streams of income and other interests, not just morning news man.
Cool to have Tech9 honor him with a song, so I guess that's why he led with this episode.

It got icky with the crude sex talk, and who knew so much about Ecstacy! At least Tech9 knew it was disrespectful that his nickname from gaggles of girls he used to gift with drugs as Malcolm Ex. Shocking to me that he experimented with the Rufi drug--on himself. Best line: "I quit drugs when my 2 year old looked at me, all messed up and high, with disapproval."

And yes, 9:48pm, not many bespoke TKC readers, especially the commenters! I might be alone wearing Giselle Shepatin! But also shop at Blessings Abound, best resale shop in the world, 103rd & Metcalf, which supports Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries.

I will listen to a few more Mark Alford podcasts, for general interest. But in general, as I shared with Tony last week, podcasts are long format, without pics, and may be passe for the short attention spans and the ADD of today's folk.
