In his latest podcast, Kansas City media Renaissance man Mark Alford speaks with radio personality Kelly Urich about replacing the legendary Dick Wilson on morning radio and the local media scene overall . . .

Take a listen . . .

Likely, one of the most insightful conversations about the local media game we've heard in quite some time.

  1. Nice one.

This was a good chat. Glad to see Kelly getting back on REAL radio. He has a great talent for promotions to. It'll be fun to see him out and about in Kansas City.

^^^ I was going to say tears but your suggestion is probably worse.

  4. I really liked Mark Alford until I saw that he supports the Chiefs and NFL. I didn't think he would betray the country like that!

  5. Were there any murders last night? We need to get on pace for 200+

  6. It sounds to me like Alford is a local guy through and through. His support of the Chefs is probably more local-based than political-based.

  7. New to KC. Who is this, and why should I care?

  8. Wonder if "I can't read a teleprompter" Alford modeled his leather biker chaps for him.

  9. HOW SHALLOW IS ALFORD?

He opens from the "granite counter top kitchen" of his guest....wow! The listener really needed that detail.

Oh! Could we hear a little bit more about Winston Churchill?

Oh no! It's now devolving into 2 media "personalities" swapping war stories. Should I bail now?

Alford just let slip the real purpose of his podcast, to network and meet people who might open up new career possibilities for him, because his "time is coming."

Clay Walker failed to recognize Mark at the game. His ego was crushed!

Alford admits that no one watches television news anymore, and the entire model is headed toward extinction.

Ok, I've learned nothing valuable from this episode, but it's marginally better than the first one. Here's a tip to Mark Alford, interview people that we've never heard of, anyone but KCMO "celebrities."

    I'm done.

  10. Does anyone know why Dick Wilson was suddenly gone from his long-time radio spot?

  11. Is this Awford's way of coming out???

  12. ^^^^^

Hmm, let's see, he makes his own clothes, compensates for his "little man" syndrome by riding a motorcycle, just admitted here that he seeks to have his body hair removed, and "knew from the time he was 5-years-old that he wanted to be a television performer."
