#BetterKCI MBE/WBE Conversation Cont'd

Over the weekend we talked about behind the scenes discussion on new Kansas City airprot quotas & requirements . . . Today it's news fact:

Edgemoor Invites Women, Minority Contractors To Weigh In On Plans For New KCI

Over 100 people gathered Tuesday afternoon for a community forum on labor for the construction of Kansas City's new single terminal airport. The event drew a diverse crowd, roughly half of which indicated by a show of hands that they were M/WBEs, or minority or woman owned business enterprises.

  3. If edgemoor wants to hire the black contractors let them do it, city hall doesn’t want them too because what we will find is a bunch of supposed black contracting firms that only exist on paper, the city fakes these numbers to make it look like they’ve been hiring mwbe contractors. They’re just isn’t enough of them. Mwbe is just a scam to pay sLIE’s friends for work they will never.

  4. You'll notice that cleavers church members will be just a little richer seeing as most of his church members are construction company owners and they get to show their appreciation to the city by paying kick bac......tythes to their church

  5. You'll need twice the number of negro employees to do similar work of hard working employees

  6. If the airport needs twenty miles of sidewalks and they have twenty years to complete it then by all means hire these colored contractors. It took them two years to go from blue pkwy to 63rd street which is less then a mile and part of it had to be redone! Lmao!

  7. After so many years of mandatory contracting with M/WBEs, surely the M/WBEs by now are able to put together a competitive bid all by themselves. Or if they can't, it's because they have never had to submit a competitive bid to get the job and have refused to figure it out. It is well past time to get rid of this nonsensical requirement.
